When the worldwide audience tuned into episode 2 of Netflix’s reboot of ‘Star Search,’ they were introduced to a young performer in the Junior Variety Category: Harry Merlin Piper. He quickly stood out due to his confidence as an experienced entertainer at the young age of 15. Hailing from Salou, Spain, he arrived as a magician, combining ventriloquism, comedy, and illusion. He always managed to captivate the judges with his acts from his first performance, including unbelievable card tricks. Although Harry was always aware of the fact that his opponents were formidable, he never backed down from giving his best on the stage.
Harry Piper Became the Runner-Up After Defending His Title For Four Weeks
During his first performance, Harry Merlin Piper went up against the junior dance group, The Force, in the Junior Variety Category. He delivered a slick close-up magic routine before the judges that instantly immersed them and the audience in the performer’s work. That memorable routine helped the 15-year-old earn an impressive 4.3 stars, securing his first victory in the competition. By episode 4, Harry faced his first challenger, who was the 8-year-old gymnast and aerialist Kaylen Fairchild. As the former recognized his opponent’s remarkable skills, he poured every ounce of his soul into his next act. Eventually, he bagged a narrow win and defended his title with 4.4 stars against Kaylen’s 4.36.
The battles continued in episode 6, which would decide if Harry would move on to the semifinals. During that time, he faced off against the 11-year-old dancers Davyd and Stella. Once again, the competition turned fierce, leaving the judges equally impressed. However, Harry managed to earn 4.25 stars, a combined score including the public opinion, as compared to his competitors’ 4.01 stars. As he moved into the semifinals, Harry faced an acro group, K-Star, but fortunately, his performance earned him 4.39 stars, advancing him to the finale. On the final night, Harry competed against Madison Lauren and advanced to the Top Four with 4.30 stars. Unfortunately, in the ultimate audience vote, he finished as the runner-up, narrowly missing the crown.
Harry is Making Waves on TV, Stage, and Social Media as a Young Magician
Harry Merlin Piper’s journey into the world of magic began at an impressively young age, guided by his father, Rodney James Piper, who is also a magician. He recognized the contestant’s natural talent and passion, which led him to introduce his son to the stage. From the beginning, Harry didn’t just rely on sleight of hand but rather combined his showmanship with dazzling illusions. As of writing, Harry has made a name for himself as an Illusionist, Presenter, Ventriloquist, and Magician. He is currently also the resident performer at the House of Illusion. Even before Harry gained fame on ‘Star Search,’ he had already captivated audiences with appearances on shows such as ‘Sky News UK Tonight with Sarah Jane Mee,’ ‘Spain’s Got Talent,’ and ‘Tac12 Día y Noche.’
Besides magic, Harry is fluent in three languages: English, Spanish, and Catalan. Over the years, he has performed in several shows, including The Magic Circle Gala Shows in 2023 and 2024, and the FISM World Championship of Magic, held in Italy in July 2025. His talent has also earned him honors, including the Junior Stage Magician of the Year in 2023. Furthermore, Harry has been recognized by The Magic Circle as a Young Magician of the Year in 2024 and 2025. In November 2025, he once again captured viewers’ attention during his performance on Salouween Street. Shortly after, Harry appeared as a judge in a competition organized in collaboration with the Magic Alon Society, during which he awarded the winner a prestigious award named in his honor.
By December, Harry appeared alongside his father and other talented magicians at the Magic Festival in Salou. In January 2026, the contestant showcased a series of his tricks on MarvoTalks. In that same month, his performance in the show led to his feature on the renowned ‘The Today Show.’ Beyond live performances, Harry has built a strong social media presence, boasting over 7.9K followers on Instagram and a community of 8K on Facebook. Through these platforms, he shares both professional highlights and glimpses into his personal life. Moreover, the magician has his own website, allowing clients to book him for theater shows, corporate events, and festivals, solidifying his status as a rising global star in the world of magic.
Harry Always Holds the Time Spent With His Family Close to His Heart
Beyond his professional endeavors, Harry’s greatest inspiration has always been standing right beside him, which is none other than his father, Rodney. His father was the first person to recognize his potential, nurture his curiosity, and encourage him to push beyond his limits. More than just a mentor, Rodney became the driving force behind Harry’s career, helping him shape his confidence. Even today, the father-son duo continues to perform together on various platforms, with their shared passion for magic strengthening their bond. Additionally, Harry shares a close bond with his mother, Joanne Piper, and his sister, Rosie May Piper.
Joanne and Rodney never miss a chance to express their pride in Harry, which became highlighted when they proudly cheered him on during the competition. While speaking about the show, his mother shared, “So I have just watched Harry’s performance on the hotel room TV, and I’m an even prouder mom today than I was in the live studio last night !! What an experience he is having out here in LA.” From celebrating Christmas to taking memorable trips together, Harry cherishes every moment spent with them. In January 2025, the family explored the beauty of Thailand, which was followed by their visit to the Iberostar Waves Alcudia Park in Illes Balears, Spain, the following July.
From time to time, Harry also joins his mother and sister at restaurants as they share meals and create lifelong memories. Moreover, he is close to his cousin, Bonnie Piper, who sometimes accompanies him on the stage as a talented performer. Whenever the young magician finds a spare moment, he often records himself doing new magic tricks and refining his art. Offstage, Harry is also a passionate sports enthusiast who enjoys watching football matches at the stadium, soaking in the electric atmosphere. No matter how bright the spotlight shines, the competitor never forgets the people who were present for him from the beginning.
