The first season of Paramount+’s ‘MobLand’ comes to an end with an explosive finale where the Harrigans fight for their lives as Harry Da Souza tries to get them back in the game. A lot happens for the Harrigans and their fixer, but at the same time, his own family continues to suffer due to his job. So far, Jan and Gina have been kept away from all the dirty work and the violence that Harry indulges in for the Harrigans. But with Conrad and Maeve getting arrested and Richie making his play, the danger looms over them as well, and they get in such close vicinity of the whole thing that they end up seeing all the bloodshed firsthand, and that leads to a confrontation that does not bode well for Harry. SPOILERS AHEAD.
Harry Ends Up with a Knife in His Chest in MobLand Finale
It is no secret that Harry has always given preference to the Harrigans over his wife and daughter. While he does care a lot about Jan and Gina, he is so busy cleaning up after the Harrigans that he doesn’t even see them until the end, when the mess has been cleared up and there is time to breathe in all the chaos. When Harry finally sees Jan, she breaks down about all the things that she and Gina have had to go through in the past few weeks. However, her husband doesn’t seem to be in the mood to have a conversation on said topic.
This irritates her even further because this is how he has been all through their marriage. His calm and composed demeanour is too much to bear sometimes because it means that he remains guarded in his emotions, which is one of the reasons behind the deterioration of their marriage. This time, however, Jan is even more concerned because the danger has extended to their daughter, who is also pursuing a relationship with Eddie Harrigan, which no one approves of.
She is extremely concerned about her daughter, but Harry doesn’t seem to understand that. At the time of this conversation, Jan is in the kitchen cutting up vegetables with a small knife. In her outburst, she pushes Harry away and accidentally stabs him in the chest with the knife. This is shocking for both of them, but as always, he keeps his calm and does not panic, while Jan loses her mind over the fact that she may have killed her husband. Fortunately, things are not as bad as they seem.
Tom Hardy’s Harry is Necessary for MobLand Season 2
Getting stabbed in the world of ‘MobLand’ is a huge deal, and it usually means that the character’s death sentence has been signed. Harry, however, has the fortune of having plot armor, considering there would be no ‘MobLand’ without him. He is the only one keeping the Harrigans from falling apart. The moment he is gone, the whole Harrigan clan will be wiped out, and with the new danger in the form of Kat McAllister, it will be impossible for them not to drown without Harry being around to keep them afloat.
It must also be noted that Harry is stabbed on the right side of his chest, which means that Jan didn’t stab him in the heart, and there is a good chance that he will survive the ordeal, though it might take him some time to recover from it. The accidental stabbing also reflects Jan’s anger, and perhaps, this will allow him to be more attentive towards his wife and daughter, which he will have to do now that Kat has declared war over an already divided Harrigan clan. With Harry getting caught in the middle of all of it, his family will also fall under the umbrella of danger, and if he isn’t careful, they might end up paying the price for his actions.
