High Potential: Is Nosh Town a Real Diner in Los Angeles?

ABC’s ‘High Potential’ is a crime drama series that captures the alluring appeal of Los Angeles, California. The engrossing episodes of the show feature several landmarks in the city, making it significantly rooted in the region. In the second half of the first season, Morgan Gillory frequently goes to Nosh Town, a diner in the city, to meet Gio Conforth, a black-market dealer who has integral information concerning her former missing partner, Roman. Later, she also accompanies her professional partner, Adam Karadec, to the place in the middle of an investigation. While Nosh Town may appear to be an appealing eatery, it is impossible to grab a bite from the place in reality!

Nosh Town is a Fictional Diner Set Up in a Film Studio

Nosh Town is a fictional diner that does not exist beyond the episodes of ‘High Potential.’ The eatery we see in the crime drama series was set up by the show’s production department in Fox Studio Lot, the principal filming location of the show. Located at 10201 West Pico Boulevard in Los Angeles, the production facility is one of the oldest movie studios in the world. Also known as Movietone City, the facility was opened in 1928, and presently, it boasts two million square feet as far as production support is concerned.

In addition to the studio’s fifteen sound stages, the 50-acre lot comprises several locations for filming purposes, including the diner space that doubles for Nosh Town. Interestingly, even though Nosh Town is presented as an appealing part of Los Angeles in the crime drama, the studio space seemingly belongs to the production facility’s historic New York Street backdrop. Over the years, several iconic TV shows have been filmed in the Fox Studio Lot. ABC’s own ‘Modern Family’ is one prominent example. Other major shows shot in the facility include the Fox projects such as ‘House,’ ‘Prison Break,’ and Malcolm in the Middle.

CBS’ “legendary” sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother’ was also filmed in the same studio lot. When it comes to film productions, the facility can boast an impressive lineup. The iconic movie musical ‘The Sound of Music,’ the Anne Baxter and Bette Davis-led ‘All About Eve,’ Bruce Willis’ globally renowned action thriller ‘Die Hard,’ and David Fincher’s cult classic ‘Fight Club’ were all filmed in the studio lot. Nosh Town is a testament to the efficiency of the production department of ‘High Potential.’ The crew set up the diner with remarkable attention to detail, leaving an impression on the minds of the ardent admirers of the show.
