Hitmakers Cast: Where Are They Now?

With Netflix’s ‘Hitmakers’ revolving around a group of renowned professionals as they set out to create songs for major artists in the industry, we get a documentary series unlike any other. It essentially pulls back the curtain on the world of songwriting camps, which gives creatives only a small window to achieve their goal, bringing forth both breakthroughs as well as chaos. In other words, this 6-part original is an authentic insight into the extraordinary personal and professional lives of the individuals behind some of the most hit songs over the past few years.

Jenna Andrews Continues to Thrive in the Industry

Although Jenna Andrews had relocated to the US from her hometown of Calgary, Canada, back in 2010 in the hopes of pursuing a singing career, she soon transitioned to just songwriting. She actually realized she was the happiest in the studio, so that’s what she chose to focus on, resulting in her getting to collaborate with artists like BTS, Drake, Jennifer Lopez, Jessie J, Tori Kelly, and Little Mix, among many more. In fact, most recently, this 2-time Grammy-nominated TwentySeven Music Publishing and Jennasis Music Publishing co-owner helped create Jamal Roberts’ “Heal,” some originals for the soundtrack of Netflix’s ‘KPop Demon Hunters,’ and Kendall Cudd’s “Heaven on Earth.” The latter was featured in episode 1 of the aforementioned production, with this ‘Green Room Talks’ web series host having worked on it alongside Stephen Kirk and Nova Wav.

Stephen Kirk is Still Shining as a Writer and Producer

Since Stephen Kirk was born in Akron, Ohio, and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, before moving to Nashville, Tennessee, for good at the age of 12 or 13, music is a big part of his life. After all, Music City is what he has called home for the majority of his life, resulting in him ultimately developing a passion for the industry and deciding to have a career in it. Little did he know he would do wonders from behind the scenes as a writer-producer, resulting in him getting to collaborate with BTS, Cardi B, Dexie, Morgan Johnston, and Jessie Murph, among others.

Stephen is a multi-platinum Grammy-nominated professional who currently primarily works alongside his girlfriend Jenna, so his recent work also includes Jamal Roberts’ “Heal,” originals for the soundtrack of Netflix’s ‘KPop Demon Hunters,’ and Kendall Cudd’s “Heaven on Earth.” On a more individual level, he is a part of the band Sunset West alongside his brother, which is currently signed under the banner of Virgin Records, and he is affiliated with Sixteen Sound. Like his partner, he truly does seem to be utterly dedicated to his craft and their relationship.

Tommy Brown is a Man of Many Hats

Thomas “Tommy” Brown, or TBHits, was just a young man when he first developed an interest in the music industry, driving him to kickstart his career when he was just a teenager. He eventually caught the eye of the right people. Since then, he has worked with several artists across all genres, including Ariana Grande (he is credited on 6 of her albums), Blackpink, Chris Brown, Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber, Megan Thee Stallion, The Weekend, Zara Larsen, and more.

Most recently, though, he did The Weeknd’s “I Can’t Wait to Get There,” NCT group member Mark’s “+82 Pressin’,” and K-pop girl group Le Sserafim’s “Different,” alongside many others. As if that’s not enough, he could possibly be working with John Legend soon, and he recently even started releasing original music – his debut EP ‘Love Letter Page 1’ came out in early 2025. This EP has five songs and is paving the way for him to evolve into an artist, all the while also successfully running his own restaurant, BLVD Steak, in Los Angeles, California.

Trey Campbell is Rising as a Music Curator

When we came across Trey Campbell in the documentary series, he was well-established in terms of his reputation, yet still struggling financially, owing to not having many great hits. However, it appears as if his luck has since changed as he is now seemingly doing better than he ever was, thanks to the profoundly special creative community he has surrounded himself with. This former member of supergroup Equinox and close affiliate of fashion brand ASOS has written for several artists, including Alexandra Stan, Bebe Rexha, Dua Lipa, John Legend, and Guy Sebastian. Plus, more recently, he has gotten to work with Danna and Santa Fe Klan for “Nada Es Para Siempre,” Banks for his album ‘Off with Her Head,’ Josh Levi for his debut album ‘Hydraulic,’ and Alexander Stewart for “Here Again.”

Nova Wav Continues to Create Smash Hits

Nova Wav is a songwriting-producing duo comprising Brittany “Chi” Coney and Denisia “Blu June” Andrews, who have been working together since the late 2000s/early 2010s. They actually earned their first placement on the charts less than a few years later with Rihanna’s 2012 “Loveeeeeee Song” (featuring Future), and since then, they have only had one hit after another. In fact, they were listed on Billboard’s 2018 Hip-Hop/R&B 100 Power Players as well as on Revolt’s 2019 Top 9 Producers for Hip Hop/R&B.

After all, they have collaborated with not just Rihanna, but also Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, DJ Khaled, Jason Derulo, Kehlani, Kelly Rowland, H.E.R., Nicki Minaj, Jay-Z, Saweetie, Teyana Taylor, Zayn Malik, and more. They won their first Grammy in 2018 for their work on The Carters’ album ‘Everything Is Love,’ followed by many more, including for co-writing 8 out of the 16 songs on Beyoncé’s highly anticipated 2022 album Renaissance. Most recently, though, they are expanding their wings to also work alongside different artists like Jessie Murph, Kesha, Keri Hilson, Tyla, and country singer Lainey Wilson.

Ben Johnson is a Musician Through and Through

Although a native of Meridian, Mississippi, Ben Johnson is now a proud resident of Nashville, Tennessee, where he relocated alongside his sisters in 2012 to pursue a career in music. This multi-instrumentalist Belmont University graduate (on a cello scholarship) actually kickstarted his career as a singer-songwriter in a band with his sisters, just for them to start gaining recognition after reaching the Hollywood rounds of ‘The X Factor’ season 1 in 2011. He utilized this traction to the best of his abilities, and soon he was a renowned songwriter-producer.

Whether it be Ava Max, Charlie Puth, Dierks Bentley, Hardy, Justin Timberlake, John Legend, Kylie Morgan, Morgan Wallen, or Weezer, he has written for everyone in the past decade. As if that’s not enough, he was nominated for a Grammy in 2022 for Weezer’s “All My Favorite Songs.” Since then, this 2023 Nashville Songwriter Award winner as well as 2024 People’s Choice Country Award winner has also gotten to collaborate with Jelly Roll for his album ‘Beautifully Broken (Pickin’ Up The Pieces),’ Avery Anna for “Blame It On My Broken Heart,” Luke Bryan for “Fish On The Wall,” and BigXthaPlug for “All the Way.” We should also mention that Ben is a happily married family man – he has been with his wife, Lauren Conklin Johnson, since they were mere teens.

Harv is an Artist, Songwriter, and Producer

Bernard Harvey, better known as Harv, was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas, which is where he developed a passion for music after being introduced to the art form at the age of 9. He was soon playing bass, learning jazz, and taking up other instruments such as drums, guitar, piano, trombone, and even tuba, following which he graduated from Alabama State University with a degree in Music Technology. It was then that he kick-started his career in Atlanta, Georgia, by playing at nightclubs, working at recording studios, and playing for different artists until he got a chance to begin producing.

Since then, Harv has worked alongside Cherish, Eminem, Gucci Mane, Juke Ross, Juice Wrld, Justin Bieber, Normani, Omah Lay, Post Malone, Skrillex, and Summer Walker, among others. He has even been honored with his name being placed on Variety’s list of Hitmaker of the Month in October 2021 and their 2021 Hitmakers Impact List for his work on Justin Bieber’s “Peaches.” Most recently, though, this happily married father of one has been focusing on his original solo music and his group We the Band, all the while also collaborating with other artists like Big Sean for songs such as “Better Than Me.”

Whitney Phillips Continues to Focus on Creating Hits

While it’s true that Whitney Phillips was born in Seattle, Washington, she currently happily splits her time between Los Angeles, California, and Nashville, Tennessee, for her career. This dedicated songwriter has been a part of the music industry for over a decade, during which she has not only collaborated with the likes of Ariana Grande, Bebe Rexa, Christina Aguilera, Céline Dion, Iggy Azalea, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Teddy Swim, and more, but also earned her fair share of Grammy nominations. Most recently, though, she has worked alongside K-pop boy band Enhypen for “Too Close,” Lauren Alaina and Chase Matthew for “Too Close,” Michal Leah for “Big Plans,” and more.

Sevyn Streeter is an Artist Turned Songwriter

Amber Denise “Sevyn” Streeter grew up singing in the church in Haines City, Florida, unaware it would spark such a passion in her that she would make music her entire life. She actually even competed on Fox’s ‘Showtime at the Apollo’ at the tender age of 10 before landing her first record deal less than 4 years later as a part of a girl group called TG4. Later on, around 2007, she became a part of another girl group called Rich Girl, which is around the time she embraced the stage name “Sevyn” or “Se7en.”

Sevyn went solo in the early 2010s, releasing several singles and an album while signed under Chris Brown’s CBE imprint, only to eventually decide to start focusing on just writing. The behind-the-scenes work of the industry is what she seemingly loves most, so she chose to dedicate herself to that, all the while also still dabbling in some original work. Most recently, she has been writing for others while also still promoting her sophomore album ‘Drunken Wordz Sober Thoughts’ (2021), which featured artists like Chris Brown and A$AP Ferg.

JHart is Essentially Involved in Every Aspect of the Music Industry

Although born in Essex, England, as James John Abrahart, this singer-songwriter, producer, and record arranger currently resides in Los Angeles, California, as JHart. His love for music also stems back to his childhood, when his parents bought him a drum kit after he had a serious skiing accident during a school trip to the Alps, and he hasn’t looked back since. He actually moved to Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of 12 alongside his family as they wanted to expand their family business, but it worked better for him as it gave him more exposure.

JHart joined his new school’s choir and soon began dabbling in production, that is, until he got an internship with a renowned producer. He subsequently proved his mettle to such an extent that he started getting legitimate opportunities in the industry, and not long after, he was collaborating with major artists. He has written/produced for 5 Seconds of Summer, Cher, Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, Kygo, Kylie Minogue, Kelsea Ballerini, Little Mix, One Republic, Troye Sivan, The Script, and more. Most recently, though, this dog dad has been focusing on his own original music, with him even having released the song “Can’t Relate” on July 25, 2025 – he made this song with Nova Wav and Sevyn on the show. We should mention he also has an EP titled ‘The Wishing, The Wanting, The Longing’ (2023), alongside several other singles, including “Us” (2024) and “Pride” (2025).
