Holly Marie: Where is the Survivor Now?

The tight-knit community of Houston, Texas, was shaken to its core on January 12, 1981, when officials discovered the remains of 21-year-old Harold Dean Clouse Jr. and his 17-year-old wife, Tina Gail Clouse. However, their remains remained unidentified until 2021. Around the same time, investigators learned that their then-infant daughter, Holly Marie Clouse, had also been missing. ABC’s ’20/20: Baby Holly Found’ reveals how officials eventually tracked down Holly in Oklahoma and reunited her with her biological family. The episode also revisits her parents’ mysterious deaths through detailed interviews with her and the officials who were involved in the case.

Holly Marie Went Missing Around the Same Time Her Parents Were Killed

Holly Marie Clouse arrived as a beacon of light in the lives of Harold Dean Clouse Jr. and Tina Gail Clouse on January 24, 1980, in Florida. According to her biological family, the parents had always been devoted to her. By the spring of 1980, Harold, known to his loved ones as “Junior,” and Tina left Florida with Holly and first went to Baltimore, Maryland, before traveling to Texas, where they stayed for a short time with their family. Eventually, the couple told their loved ones that they had found an apartment of their own and moved there with their daughter. Tina always sent pictures of her child to her family through letters, but that changed after her last letter in early October 1980.

After several days, Tina and Harold were reported missing by their family. Despite an extensive search, they received no information about their whereabouts for several years. On January 12, 1981, authorities recovered the remains of a young couple from a wooded area in Houston, Texas. However, since the remains were not identified until four decades later, officials were unable to find any leads in the case. That changed in 2021, when genetic genealogy helped identify the remains as those of 21-year-old Harold Dean Clouse Jr. and his 17-year-old wife, Tina Gail Clouse. When their families were informed, law enforcement learned that the couple’s daughter, Holly, had been missing since October 1980.

Holly Reunited With Her Biological Family After More Than Four Decades

Reports state that as investigators dug deeper, they discovered Holly’s birth records, which revealed that she was adopted by a pastor, Philip McGoldrick, and his then-wife, Constance McGoldrick, in Yuma County, Arizona. They also learned that the pair was unable to work out their relationship and ultimately separated. After that, Philip gained custody of Holly, and they eventually relocated to Oklahoma. On June 7, 2022, law enforcement officials finally met her in Oklahoma and informed her that her biological family had been looking for her.

While describing the moment, Holly stated, “That moment was intense. I’m a fast talker, so it’s like a fire hydrant of information.” She then learned that her parents, Harold and Tina, were brutally killed in 1980. According to the officials on the show, she gradually broke down when she first saw a picture of her mother because the moment was overwhelming. Following that, in November 2022, Holly finally reunited with her aunts, uncles, and her paternal grandmother, Donna Casasanta, marking an emotional moment for everyone. Upon meeting her granddaughter, Donna expressed, “I prayed for more than 40 years for answers, and the Lord has revealed some of it. We have found Holly.”

During the reunion, the family also showed Holly a picture book that was lovingly prepared by Tina, capturing every special moment with her daughter. However, even to this day, Holly and her family continue to wait for new leads in her parents’ double homicide. They are also actively working to help other families reconnect with their missing loved ones using new DNA technology. Unfortunately, Donna passed away on October 10, 2023, at the age of 82, surrounded by her family in New Smyrna Beach, Volusia County, Florida. Although Holly was heartbroken by the limited time she had with her grandmother, she remains grateful for the precious, lifelong memories they created together.

Holly Has Turned Her Painful Past Into a Story of Resilience Through Her Book

When officials first tracked down Holly, she was working as a waitress at a restaurant in Cushing, Oklahoma. After she learned about the homicide of her parents, she began searching for answers. Following her discovery, it was revealed that the Texas Attorney General’s Office had investigated potential connections between the pair’s disappearance and a religious group, The Christ Family. However, it is worth noting that authorities never found any evidence that connected the double homicide to the group, and none of their members was ever charged in connection with the murders. Eventually, Holly decided to share her theories and chronicle her journey through her writing, leading her to publish the book ‘Finding Baby Holly: Lost to a Cult, Surviving My Parents’ Murders, and Saved by Prayer’ in November 2023.

Holly has notably co-written the book with Cindy and David Lambert. From May 31 to June 2, 2024, she took another step forward in her career by sharing her experience before the Q&A panel for ’20/20′ at CrimeCon. By February 2025, she also attended an event at the Victory Christian Church in Tulsa. In her personal life, Holly thought that she had found the love of her life when she crossed paths with Troy. She was just 18 years old when they finally tied the knot at a beautiful venue. Over the next few years, they welcomed their five beloved children into their lives, filling their hearts with immense joy.

Sadly, Holly and Troy began to notice cracks in their union over the years, culminating in their divorce in May 2024. Fortunately, she now finds solace in the company of her children and her newfound family, who are among her greatest supporters. From visiting the beaches with them to simply having meaningful conversations, Holly now uses every moment to further strengthen her relationship with her biological family. Furthermore, she continues to maintain an incredible relationship with her adoptive father, Philip, often dining with him at different restaurants.
