Hotel Costiera Plot Recap

The series opens with the introduction of Daniel De Luca, a former US Marine who acts as a “fixer” for a powerful man named Augusto, who runs a luxury hotel in Positano, off the Amalfi Coast, called Villa Costiera, with his daughter Adele. He handles the issues of the guests and also attends to the personal issues of the owner and his family. One of the latest challenges the fixer faces is the disappearance of Alice, Augusto’s other daughter. A rich man named Aaron Trasky arrives at the hotel with his young wife, Sheryl. As the protagonist tries to find clues about Alice, Trasky’s sudden disappearance during a boating adventure creates more chaos, and suspicions fall on the young wife. Daniel investigates with the help of his team, which consists of a local man named Bigné and two others named Genny and Tancredi.

However, it is revealed that Trasky got swept away by a wave to a cave and used it as an opportunity to temporarily disappear and illegitimately influence the company’s stocks and shares. Sheryl separates from her husband and then hooks up with Daniel. She gives him an important clue, wherein Alice is seen in the background of a selfie Sheryl clicked with her former husband at Naples. This gives the protagonist the first clue in Alice’s case. A Jewish-American man named Richard comes to the Villa Costiera to pick up the mortal remains of his mother, and chooses to bury her as per Jewish tradition. Meanwhile, Daniel heads to Naples to investigate Alice’s case and finds leads at a bar due to CCTV footage recording Bruno Lombardi with Alice, who turns out to be the same man spotted with Alice in Sheryl’s selfie.

A retired former Marine colleague of Daniel named April asks for his help after she loses a valuable bracelet containing secret financial information, and the protagonist helps her by stealing it from a local loan shark. He then tracks down Bruno and asks him about Alice’s whereabouts. Bruno gives information about a place called the Mariela Hotel, where Alice could have gone. Daniel and the team help a migrant kid named Hassan reunite with his mother, after he is threatened by a local gangster. Alice reaches out to her father about returning, but is captured by strange men, who get information from Bruno. She is taken just moments before Daniel gets to her. The protagonist and his team torture Bruno about information related to the gang, who indicates that they are part of a French gang consisting of individuals named Laurent and Sabine.

The protagonist and team pretend to let go of Bruno, but discreetly track him to trace the French gang. Laurent asks his prisoner, Alice, for help in stealing the necklace from an auction scheduled to take place at Villa Costiera, as she is familiar with the place. The girl becomes a hostage only due to Bruno’s mistake of getting her kidnapped instead of her sister, Adele. Laurent’s son pretends to be a tourist to secretly film Adele at the hotel, and shows the video to Alice to scare her into cooperation.

Alice tries to escape, just as Daniel arrives to help. However, Laurent and his son point their guns at her and blackmail Daniel, ordering him to steal the necklace and replace it with a counterfeit, in exchange for Alice’s life. Daniel and his team head to the hotel, where they seek the help of Adele and Augusto to somehow win the necklace at the auction. Amidst the chaos of the auction and Alice’s life on the line, the fixer must find a way to win the necklace and save the life of the abducted girl.

Hotel Costiera Ending: How Is Alice Saved from the French Gang? Does She Survive?

After securing the Maria Callas necklace, Daniel sets the stage for a chaotic effort to save Alice’s life before time runs out. He rushes towards the yacht, but is stopped midway and held at gunpoint by Bruno, who intends to steal the necklace. However, Bigné and Tancredi neutralize the attacker at the right time. Laurent has been obsessed with the necklace worn by the celebrity named Maria Callas since his childhood. At the yacht, Laurent assumes that the necklace is not coming, and he impatiently orders his thug, Le Bris, to discreetly kill Alice. He heads to the deck to bring Alice out of her room and pretends to let her go. As she steps on the docking surface of the boat, he pulls out his gun and aims it at the back of her head.

Laurent tells Alice that no one cares for her and that she has to die. However, he gets a call from Daniel, who tells him that the necklace is safe. Alice is escorted back to the yacht, and the protagonist is given the coordinates for the yacht. Daniel takes a speed cruiser and reaches the yacht, where he spots Laurent and his son waiting for him. They demand the necklace in exchange for Alice’s release, and the kidnapped girl secretly grabs a fork to ensure that she has something to defend herself with. Laurent examines the necklace and concludes that it is indeed the real piece. When Daniel asks them to release the girl first, the French gangster refuses and says he should get the necklace first. Daniel threatens to drop the necklace into the sea, and does so when Laurent doesn’t agree to his conditions.

Laurent immediately orders his son to dive and find the jewellery. Daniel signals Alice to use the fork, after which she stabs Le Bris’ leg and begins to run. The protagonist and the kidnapped girl head to the lower deck, but Le Bris catches up. The two men fight each other, as Laurent’s son swims towards the jewellery case deep below and secures it. When Le Bris is distracted by Laurent and his securing the necklace, Daniel takes a fire extinguisher and hits his head, neutralizing him. As the protagonist and Alice escape on a speed boat, Laurent realizes that they are in possession of the fake necklace. Genny secures the real necklace from deep below and boards the speed cruiser.

As Augusto fearfully waits for the return of his daughter, he spots the speed cruiser and breathes a sigh of relief. In an emotional moment, he hugs his daughter, who runs towards him happily. The family is reunited again, and the necklace is returned to its rightful owner, Sheryl. Everyone at the Villa Costiera celebrates Alice’s return and dances. Despite the chaos and the confusion, Alice survives under trying circumstances, helped ably by Daniel and his team of unique individuals.

How Does Sheryl Win the Necklace at the Auction? Why?

The auction for Maria Callas’ necklace is seen as the only way to bring Alice back. Daniel and Genny pretend to be a rich couple and participate in the bidding. Laurent looks on as the necklace he is obsessed with becomes the prize eyed by many rich people, all hoping to boost their ego and status. Tancredi tries to distract a British man from buying the necklace, but it doesn’t work. Daniel realizes that neither Augusto nor he has the money to win the necklace. He then thinks of a unique plan and heads away from the auction. He then seeks Sheryl’s help to secure the necklace at the auction. She arrives right on time and starts to flirt with him. He pleads with her to help him secure the necklace by buying it with her divorce money. He also explains Alice’s situation to her to gain her sympathy, and promises to return the necklace to her once the kidnapped girl is returned safely.

However, the girl doesn’t agree, so Daniel and his team plan to use distraction tactics to get hold of the jewellery. However, just before the necklace is sold to another buyer at 20 million Euros, Sheryl intervenes and loudly says that she will be offering 25 million. Adele also helps by immediately saying that Sherly is a registered buyer for the auction. This changes the game in a jiffy, and Daniel secures the necklace just in time to save Alice. Sheryl, despite seeming like an arrogant and elitist girl, actually shows that she cares for others, especially Daniel, to whom she is attracted. Her crush on Daniel and her sympathy for Alice combine to make her buy the necklace at such a high price. As promised, Daniel gives her jewellery back after the kidnapped girl is saved.

How Does Laurent Escape? Who is the Stranger He Meets?

Laurent is shocked when Daniel and his team manage to outsmart him at the yacht and steal the necklace. The French gangster realizes that he will soon be cornered by the cops if he doesn’t escape. As Daniel and his team ride away, so do Laurent and his thugs in the opposite direction. He immediately takes a speedboat with Le Bris and another associate as they make a hasty escape. However, amidst all the chaos, Laurent’s son is left behind on the yacht and will presumably be apprehended by the Italian authorities for being involved in a kidnapping and theft case. Once Laurent speeds away, he is seen in an unknown place, talking to a strange man whose face isn’t revealed. This proves that the escape attempt was successful, and the team will presumably look to steal something again.

The identity of the strange man becomes an important part of the narrative when his identity is revealed by the French gangster. He stirs a cup of coffee and tells the stranger that he would like to talk to him about his son, Daniel. This shocks the unseen man, who most likely assumed that his son would never be a part of his life again. Daniel reveals earlier in the story that his father ran out on him when he was young. This leads to a potentially complex scenario, wherein Daniel could be haunted by something he never expected. Laurent could use the father as bait to take revenge on Daniel for standing between him and his precious necklace.

Will Sheryl and Daniel Get Together? Will Daniel Pursue Genny?

Sheryl and Daniel get intimate under unique circumstances, which involve her divorce from her former husband, Aaron Trasky. After giving him clues about Alice, she disappears, only making an appearance before the auction. Despite their mutual attraction, Sheryl Daniel will presumably not get together as they don’t really love each other. It is just a casual hookup that formed the basis of their bond. Sheryl is also aware of the fact that they come from very different backgrounds and that nothing serious could happen between them. Daniel will presumably not try to court Sheryl, as he has other issues to look into, and due to the fact that Sheryl has different ambitions, which include a plan to buy an island for herself with the divorce money. This negates any possibility of Sheryl and Daniel getting together.

On the other hand, the bond between Genny and Daniel is more mature and based on understanding. They are partners who know each other’s work and the risks associated with it. They come close to sharing a kiss twice in the narrative, but are interrupted. Genny shows jealousy when she sees Daniel close to Sheryl, indicating that she actually likes him. The protagonist, too, is most likely interested in her as she is someone who knows him very well. This could presumably lead to a serious relationship between the two of them in the future. They could also not pursue each other, as they would want to maintain professional boundaries due to the fact that they work in the same team. They might presumably not risk anything and choose to remain friends who understand each other.
