Where is Jacky Rodgers Now? Update on My 600 lb Life Star

Jacky Rodgers captured hearts with her inspirational weight loss journey in season 13 episode 5 of TLC’s ‘My 600-lb Life.’ Her relationship with food began at an early age, and by the time she was four, she weighed over 100 lbs. She grew up in a tight-knit family where the smell of food and eating became her comfort. However, she explained that her childhood was also full of emotional turmoil because her mother struggled with alcoholism and her father had severe anger issues. When her parents passed away, she was the first person to discover them both times. So, when she turned to food again, her weight increased, taking a significant toll on her body. Jacky finally decided to seek help, determined to escape the constant pain she was in.

Despite Initial Setbacks, Jacky Rodgers Kept Pushing Toward Her Goal

In the very beginning, Jacky Rodgers weighed 709.8 lbs. Dr. Nowzaradan asked her to maintain a strict 1,200-calorie diet and an exercise routine. He also gave her the first goal: losing 70 lbs in two months. When she returned for her follow-up appointment, she failed to meet her target and weighed 689.5 lbs. Dr. Nowzaradan explained that her calorie intake was still too high and gave her the same goal again. By the fifth month, Jacky reduced her weight to 669.2 lbs, again failing to meet her goal. So, the doctor warned that they would run out of options to help her if she failed to reach the same goal again. Determined to push forward, Jacky returned to the gym. However, when her father’s second death anniversary came around, her emotions made her again seek comfort in food.

By the 7-month mark, Jacky’s weight increased to 686.3 lbs. Dr. Nowzaradan gave her an ultimatum to lose 30 lbs in one month, or she would be dropped from the program. Furthermore, he set up a psychotherapy appointment to help her deal with emotional issues. Two months later, Jacky’s hard work paid off as she brought her weight down to 623.6 lbs. Although she didn’t fully reach her goal, her progress impressed Dr. Nowzaradan, and he approved her for weight loss surgery. The procedure was scheduled two months later with one final condition: she needed to drop below the 600 lbs mark before that time. The doctor went ahead with the procedure since Jacky had lost another 25 lbs by the time of her surgery at the 11th month. By the end of one year, Jacky’s weight had reduced to an impressive 556 lbs.

Jacky Rodgers Inspires Fans with Her Determination on Social Media

When Jacky Rodgers graduated from high school, her weight was already over 600 lbs. Since her weight affected her life greatly, she decided not to go to college and join the workforce instead. After sending out applications, she landed a job at a grocery supercenter. However, the reality star shared on the show that it quickly turned into a daily struggle as standing on her feet for hours was brutal on her body. Furthermore, Jacky said it affected her emotionally when children pointed out her weight. Hence, she left that job and took up her next role in customer service, which allowed her to sit and work all day. However, the role further led Jacky’s weight to climb higher.

Jacky has currently not shared any further updates about her professional life and has chosen to keep it under wraps. However, she has found a way to channel her energy into her health journey. She is quite active on social media, particularly Facebook and Instagram, and proudly shares her weight loss progress on both these platforms. Jacky’s feeds are filled with snapshots of healthy meals, exercise updates, and impressive transformation photos that showcase just how far she has come. In August 2024, she announced that she had lost a total of 315 lbs. By January 2025, the reality star shared another milestone about undergoing skin removal surgery. During the procedure, the doctor removed 37 lbs of Jacky’s excess skin, bringing her weight down to 328.8 lbs.

Jacky has recently experienced a drastic improvement in her mobility. In March, she proudly shared that she had gone from taking one hour and 16 minutes to walk a mile, having to stop after every lap, to completing it in 24 minutes without stopping. Alongside her physical transformation, her confidence has flourished, which is quite visible in the snapshots she shares today. As of writing, the reality star has lost a total of 408 lbs. Jacky also receives incredible support from her fans who often fill her comment section with encouraging messages like, “Get at it I love seeing you journey!!!” and “Good for you! You got this! You are beautiful inside and out!”

Jacky Rodgers’ World Revolves Around Family and Faith

Jacky Rodgers’ early life was marked with deep emotional scars. According to her statements on the show, she had a painful upbringing since her mother struggled with alcoholism and her father had anger issues. She was left grief-stricken when, at just 16 years old, Jacky woke up from sleep to unfortunately discover that her mother had passed away. Tragedy struck again when 25-year-old Jacky returned home from work to find that her father was no more. During her therapy on the show, she opened up about how both incidents affected her emotionally. Despite the tumultuous childhood, she often misses her parents. Remembering her mother on her birthday, Jacky wrote, “Happy Heavenly Birthday, Mom. I know we had our ups and downs, but that doesn’t mean I don’t miss my mom.”

Amid her grave loss, Jacky always has her family by her side, especially her aunt, Teresa. Her aunt became an unwavering source of support even during her weight loss journey. Teresa often went on walks, prepared healthy meals, and even visited the clinic during her doctor’s appointments. Similarly, her grandparents, Sharon and Willie, also played a huge role in accompanying her while visiting Dr. Nowzaradan. When her father passed away, Jacky moved into her grandparents’ cabin since she could not manage her father’s house alone. The reality star always wanted to enjoy life with her loved ones beyond the four walls. By the end of her journey on the show, she even made a memorable safari trip in Texas with her grandparents and aunt.

In March 2025, Jacky enjoyed a blissful time attending the Mardi Gras Parade with Sharon. In July 2025, she revealed with grief that she was looking for a loving home for her beloved furry kitten, Peaches. Jacky welcomed her kitten into her life when she adopted her in 2016 and hoped the home she next went to could update her about Peaches’ well-being. Amidst the ups and downs, the reality star continues to remain on track and has been feeling better both emotionally and physically. Aside from that, Jacky is a woman of faith who remains grounded in values by getting tattoos of scripture. Her transformation is now a source of inspiration for those seeking to reclaim their life.
