Season 1 of Fox’s ‘The Floor’ premiered on January 2, 2024, and introduced 81 talented contestants who engaged in a battle of strategy, nerve, and most of all, knowledge. Unlike many others who had months to prepare for the show, Jacquelyn Kenny was one of the exceptions. She was initially chosen as an alternate and received an unexpected email just 48 hours prior to initiation stating that she would be going to film. She was quite nervous with such little time at hand, and little did she expect that her strategy would end up paving the way for the big win of $250,000.
Jacquelyn Kenny Was Totally Focused on the End Goal
Winning ‘The Floor’ was not just about being smart for Jacquelyn Kenny. It was about playing smart for her, and she proved to be a formidable competitor with her strategies. Although the game’s rules allowed her to challenge other contestants in specific categories throughout the season, she carefully chose her battles. She only engaged in the trivia dues when she was completely confident about the subject, making sure to play it safe. Furthermore, the 33-year-old also utilized the ability to use “pass” very carefully and considered it as a boon.
According to Jacquelyn, rather than wasting time thinking about the answer, it was best to pass on the question instantly and lose just three seconds of her time. During the final battle, when she faced her final opponent, the category choice came down between International Foods and Fashion Icons. Since both of these were her strong suits, they had already sealed her fate. Ultimately, with her expertise on display, Jacquelyn gave the correct answers with confidence, grabbing the grand prize and emerging as the first-ever champion of the show.
