Season 19 of Lifetime’s ‘Married at First Sight’ introduced Jalyn Garcia and Josh Black as the first couple to get married. They had signed up for the social experiment with the shared hope to finally find the deep, lasting love that had eluded them in the past. When they met at the altar for the first time, their connection was instant and impossible to ignore. After sharing their vows, they became completely smitten and quickly expressed their genuine affection for each other. As the season progressed, it brought them closer with each shared moment. They gradually learned about each other’s families, values, and expectations within their relationship.
Jalyn and Josh’s Flourishing Bond Turned Complicated as Differences Arose
During the honeymoon, Jalyn Garcia and Josh Black’s connection deepened in ways neither had expected. There, they spent their days immersed in laughter and easy conversations. However, Jalyn realized that, unlike her, Josh was quite adventurous and loved being outdoors. Yet, their differences didn’t stop them from sharing meaningful moments. He surprised her by taking her up to see the breathtaking view of the Panama Canal, where he gifted her a bigger wedding ring — a gesture that showed how committed he was. During the couples’ retreat, Jalyn and Josh arrived with the belief that they had finally worked through their differences. However, another unexpected issue arose due to their conflicting thoughts about the definition of community. The pair’s simple conversation quickly turned emotional, leading Jalyn to break down in tears. She expressed that Josh didn’t understand what she really needed. With patience and openness, they resolved the problem once more, finding their way back to understanding. As of writing, neither of them has publicly confirmed the current status of their relationship. Interestingly, while Jalyn and Josh don’t follow each other on Instagram, they still share photos from behind the scenes of the show on the platform.
It is worth noting that Jalyn’s mother, Belynda, still follows Josh on Instagram. Furthermore, when his followers recently congratulated him on his marriage, he warmly thanked them. At another instance, a woman had asked him why he and Jalyn didn’t follow each other online, to which another individual had replied, “I’m guessing no. Wedding was February of 2024. Maybe he got sick if the ‘ha ha ha ha’ laugh.” However, Josh quickly defended Jalyn, writing, “We should try and be nicer with these comments. It’s how she expresses joy, and I think there’s beauty in that. As for if we are still together, you’ll have to wait and see.” All the subtle hints suggest that the couple may have chosen to explore their relationship after the show, but are currently keeping it out of the spotlight.
Jalyn is Thriving as a Real Estate Advisor and Cycling Instructor
Jalyn Garcia started her professional trajectory as a Marketing Representative at Matrix Residential, a Pollack Shores Company. Over the years, she has held several other positions. In July 2022, she assumed the role of Real Estate Agent at RA Residential, where she worked for over three years before exiting in August 2025. A month prior, in July 2025, the reality star joined Kuper Sotheby’s International Realty in Austin, Texas, as a Global Real Estate Advisor. Beyond traditional real estate, Jalyn also offers free apartment locating services for clients. Much of her clientele connects with her through Instagram, where she has built a growing fan base of over 9.9K followers. Her feed showcases her daily life and professional success, featuring the properties she is currently working on or those that have already been sold.
Besides this, Jalyn is a dedicated and passionate Cycling Instructor. In her personal life, her world is deeply rooted in her family. Although her parents, Belynda and Jesse Sr., are divorced, she maintains a loving bond with both of them. She is also exceptionally close to her brothers, Jesse Jr. and Jett. Whether they’re traveling together or simply meeting up for meals, the Garcia family remains incredibly tight-knit. Another of Jalyn’s greatest sources of joy is her furry pup, Rocco. Whenever she gets the chance, she loves attending boxing events, exploring new restaurants, and traveling to several beautiful locations.
