Where Are James, Jolinda and Julissa Turpin Now?

Each of the Turpin siblings faced their own struggles after being rescued, with no two experiences being the same. Very little has been publicly shared about the six youngest children, as most have understandably chosen to remain private while rebuilding their lives. However, three of them, James, Jolinda, and Julissa Turpin, have spoken publicly for the first time in ABC’s ‘The Turpins: A New House of Horror.’ In the documentary, they describe the challenges they faced after their rescue and that their recovery involved new forms of hardship and trauma.

James Turpin Loves Basking in Nature’s Gifts in the Outdoors

James Turpin was born in 2001 while David and Louise Turpin were living in Rio Vista, Texas. Like his siblings, he endured severe abuse, including malnutrition, neglect, and harsh physical punishment. When the children were rescued on April 2, 2018, James was still a minor and had been briefly placed with foster parents Marcelino and Rosa Olguin, though he soon left that placement. Since then, he has publicly used the name James Olguin. He remains very close to his siblings and has been focused on building a stable, normal life for himself. James has attended several concerts in late 2025 and appears to enjoy spending time in nature. He has taken to embracing outdoor activities as part of his journey toward recovery and personal growth.

Jolinda Turpin is Enjoying Many New Experiences Today

Jolinda Turpin was born in 2004 in Rio Vista, Texas, and was rescued along with her siblings in April 2018 from Perris, California. After her rescue, she was briefly placed with the Olguin family, later filing a complaint against them for abuse, which led to their conviction. Jolinda remains very close to her siblings and appears to be based in California, steadily regaining agency over her life. She has embraced new experiences, including going camping for the first time in August 2025. An animal lover, she shares her home with her dog, Ollie, and two cats, one of whom is named Bobby.

Reflecting on her journey, she said, “I am very grateful for all the opportunities I have had and more to come! A childhood is not something you can replace, but I have been very lucky to meet people who have helped create some of the best memories! I am forever grateful to those who leave/have left an impact on me!” Jolinda has expressed gratitude for the support she has received and emphasized that she is on her healing journey. She enjoys being outdoors, going snowboarding, visiting fairs, and spending time with her siblings. All of this only shows her strength and determination as she rebuilds her life.

Julissa Turpin Cherishes the Bond She Shares With Her Siblings

Julissa Turpin was born in 2006 and, like her siblings, was briefly placed with the Olguin family before being rescued. She radiates positive energy and has worked hard to reclaim her life. In 2023–2024, she was a member of her high school track team. Julissa has a beloved dog, Daisy, and remains very close to her siblings, particularly Jolinda and James. She and her sister Jolinda even got matching tattoos, with Julissa’s reading “we’ll be all right.” She is deeply religious and credits much of her healing to her faith in Jesus. In December 2025, she took a vacation to Colorado, enjoying the sights and even attended the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. Julissa is a thriving young woman with a bright future ahead and promise in every aspect of her life.
