James Marsden’s next Apple TV+ project will take him to Europe. That’s where the filming of his upcoming drama series ‘Disavowed’ will take place between August 17 this year and March 19, 2027. Art Marcum and Matt Holloway created the show and serve as writers. No other cast members have been revealed yet.

The story follows legendary CIA Case Officer Brad Griffin (Marsden), who is abruptly fired in the middle of a global hunt for an elusive assassin responsible for killing his colleague. Disgraced and outcast from the world of intelligence, all bets are off when Brad decides to go after the 15 million dollar federal bounty on the assassin’s head.
Marsden most recently starred in Season 2 of the Apple TV+ show ‘Your Friends & Neighbors,’ playing billionaire Owen Ashe. He reprised his role as US President Cal Bradford in Season 2 of the Hulu thriller series ‘Paradise’. He played an alternate version of himself in Season 1 of the Prime Video reality hoax sitcom ‘Jury Duty.’ The three seasons of the respective shows came out in 2026. The year has also seen him star in BenDavid Grabinski’s crime comedy ‘Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice,’ which follows two friends navigating the dangerous world of organized crime. The Disney+ Hulu feature also starred Vince Vaughn and Eiza González. Marsden’s fans know him as Cyclops from the ‘X-Men’ trilogy of the 2000s, a role he will reprise in ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’ which will be released on December 18, 2026. We will see him return as Sonic’s adoptive father, Tom Wachowski, in ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 4,’ which is slated to arrive on March 19, 2027.
While there is no dearth of CIA-based shows on streaming services, it remains to be seen what writers Art Marcum and Matt Holloway have conjured. They penned ‘Iron Man,’ which kick-started the MCU, as well as other big movies like ‘Transformers: The Last Knight,’ ‘Uncharted,’ ‘Kraven the Hunter,’ and ‘Men in Black: International.’
