Jason Porter AKA Jace Parratti: Where is the Con Artist Now?

Amazon Prime’s ROMCON: Who the F**k is Jason Porter?’ is a two-part true crime documentary series that explores the crimes of a Toronto-based conman named Jason Porter, also known as Jace Parratti and Jace Peretti. Through carefully woven lies and a seemingly perfect personality, he managed to con many women into a relationship with him, allowing him to steal valuable items and thousands of dollars from them. In the documentary, several of his former partners also feature, talking about their experiences with the fraudster.

Jason Porter Conned Multiple Women Through Online Dating Sites

Before Jason Porter, also known as Jacce Parratti, entered the life of Heather Rovet, he was already a convicted fraudster. About a decade before they met, Jason reportedly began his romance scam scheme, wherein he would lie to his partner about his past, work, and other details of his personal life. By pretending to be a model boyfriend, he gained his victim’s trust only to steal jewelry and luxury possessions from them. In order to cover up his short stints in jail, he lied to the women about being on foreign business trips. His fraudulent activities did not go unnoticed for long, as in 2009, he was caught using money from a wallet that he had stolen at a wedding he attended with his girlfriend at the time.

For the crime, he spent four months behind bars in addition to eight more months the following year for similar crimes. In November 2010, he met Sarah on a Canadian dating website called Plenty Of Fish (POF). Claiming that he worked at a software company, he managed to gain her trust and became an integral part of her life in a few months. However, right before their scheduled trip to Paris and Africa, he ghosted her in February 2011, allegedly with about $800 in credit card charges and an extensive cell phone bill in her name. On top of that, Sarah also claimed that he had spent $1,000 using her father’s credit card information. When she went to the police to file a complaint against Jason, she realized that he had a rap sheet filled with crimes like breaking and entering, theft, and possession of stolen property, that dated back to 1995.

Despite Serving Time in Prison, Jason Porter’s Fraudulent Activities Didn’t Stop

As a matter of fact, before meeting Sarah, Jason had reportedly spent seven months in jail for absconding with the vehicle of one of his former girlfriends. By January 2012, he was arrested as the Toronto Police Service believed that he had multiple victims over the years. Eventually, he pleaded guilty to 15 charges, including obtaining credit cards through fraud and several counts of fraud under $5,000. For his crimes, he received a 30-month imprisonment sentence. After he was released in 2014, Jason went back to his old ways and disguised his identity by using the alias Jace Parratti. He met his next victim on Match.com. Over the course of their three-year relationship, he entered fatherhood with her as they welcomed a son in 2015.

While pretending to be the ideal partner and father, Jason also allegedly stole jewelry, credit cards, and money from her bank accounts. Once his truth was out in the open, she parted ways with him. After the relationship ended, he started working as a handyman at a kitchen renovation company in 2018. That’s when he met Heather Rovet, who formed a romantic connection with him. In a few months’ time, Jason managed to become a part of her life and her family as well. Meanwhile, he was in the middle of a child custody battle with his ex-girlfriend, who eventually won sole custody of their son in February 2019.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, he moved in with her. By September 2020, the couple moved out of Toronto and relocated to Aurora, where they began afresh. Soon enough, Heather learned about the fraudulent activities of Jason. She found several pieces of evidence that proved his involvement in multiple fraud crimes. Thus, when she reported the same to the authorities, he was arrested and charged with theft of over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime in September 2021. Before his arrest, he also formed relationships with Tiffany and Desiree while still maintaining a relationship with Heather.

Jason Porter Appears to be Incarcerated at an Ontario Prison Facility Today

Facing up to 10 years in prison, Jason accused Heather of jury tampering and claimed that she placed flyers on the jurors’ cars to get them on the prosecution’s side. In light of his accusations, the judge postponed the trial as the authorities investigated the claims. When they learned that he had made false allegations, he was further charged with obstruction of justice. Despite the multiple delays, the trial resulted in Jason’s conviction in December 2024. A few months later, on April 14, 2025, he was sentenced to two years minus a day in prison, in addition to three years of probation. On top of that, he was also ordered by the court to repay Heather’s mother for the stolen jewelry and report his future romantic relationships to his probation officer during his probation period.
