Jennifer Turpin: Where is the Turpin Sibling Now?

Jennifer Turpin, the oldest of the Turpin siblings, was 29 years old when she was rescued from David and Louise Turpin’s home in Perris, California, in January 2018. She was found in an extremely fragile state, having spent her entire life isolated from the outside world and subjected to long-term abuse. In the years that followed, her younger siblings were placed into foster care, while Jennifer faced her own challenges in trying to build independence and stability. In 2021, she spoke publicly for the first time about her experiences, and portions of that interview were featured in ABC’s ‘The Turpins: A New House of Horror.’

Jennifer Turpin Waited For the Police to Arrive After Jordan Turpin Escaped

Jennifer Turpin was born in 1988, when her parents, David and Louise Turpin, were living in Fort Worth, Texas. She later recalled that as more children were born, the home became increasingly neglected, with dirt and clutter piling up. Jennifer attended school only until third grade and she said she was often unclean and went days without bathing. She was eventually withdrawn from school and never received a proper education. As the family moved to Rio Vista, Texas, she described life growing more severe. Younger siblings were frequently left without supervision or food. When the parents left town, Jennifer and one of her brothers were given cell phones and instructed to enforce strict rules, including restraining and confining the younger children.

Jennifer also spoke of enduring physical abuse herself, living in constant fear of making a mistake. She recounted an incident in which her father pinned her against a wall by her throat, and she was beaten until she bled. When she learned the family planned another move, this time to Oklahoma, Jennifer realized something had to change. She supported her sister Jordan’s plan to escape, sharing whatever limited knowledge she had. Jennifer said she waited anxiously through the night until she heard the police knocking at the door. She was rescued in January 2018 at age 29, weighing just 82 pounds.

Jennifer Turpin is a Published Author Today

After her rescue on January 14, 2018, Jennifer Turpin, like several of her siblings, was taken to the hospital to receive urgent medical care. In the years that followed, she largely stayed out of the public eye, focusing on therapy and the long process of healing. She remained closely connected to her siblings and later attended her parents’ sentencing. In November 2021, Jennifer spoke publicly for the first time alongside her sister Jordan Turpin, sharing her experiences. During that interview, she revealed her dream of becoming a published author. At the time, she was working at a local restaurant and had begun writing Christian pop music as a creative outlet. Since then, Jennifer has built a life on her own terms and emerged as an inspiring and determined figure.

Jennifer now works as a motivational speaker, using her story to encourage others, and is also a trained phlebotomist, a healthcare professional who draws blood for medical testing and procedures. In 2023, she became the CEO of DAWN’s Designs & Co., a small business through which she sells handmade accessories. That same year marked another milestone when her dream of becoming an author became a reality. In April 2024, Jennifer published her first book, ‘Where Was God?’ She has also collaborated on the book ‘The Brown Contract,’ runs an Etsy shop, and creates social media content. She has also released planners and sketchbooks, which have been very well received. She continues to share her voice and creativity while building a future defined by purpose and independence.

Jennifer Turpin Has a Strong Community of Loved Ones Around Her

Jennifer Turpin has also found happiness in her personal life. On October 27, 2024, she married Aron, whom she began dating in 2023. The two have built a life together in California, and Jennifer has often shared how content and supported she feels in their relationship. They also co-run a Discord community called Survivors United, a space created to foster connection and support among people with shared experiences. She remains deeply bonded with her siblings, especially Jordan Turpin. The sisters share a close relationship, and Jordan even treated Jennifer to a birthday trip in August 2025.

Over the years, Jennifer has consistently shown up for her siblings during important milestones, strengthening their sense of family after everything they endured. Today, she is embracing a more ordinary and joyful life, celebrating holidays, spending time with loved ones, and enjoying lighthearted moments, such as dressing up as Taylor Swift for Halloween. In November 2025, Jennifer was involved in a minor accident. While it was not serious, her close friends and family rallied to support her. She even has a chosen mother and is clearly showing how far one can go in life, no matter what they endure.
