Season 8 of TLC’s ’90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way’ features two returning couples and five new pairs, one of whom is Jonathan “Jon” Pearce and Alimna, AKA Ally. While he hails from Groton, Connecticut, his partner resides in Woodlands, Singapore. Romance blossomed between them during their chance meeting, and it wasn’t long before it grew into something deeper. The couple was excited to start their life together, but a fresh beginning came with several uncertainties. Moreover, they also had to navigate the pressure of family expectations and find a way to reveal a secret about them to Ally’s loved ones, which could change everything.
Jonathan Pearce and Ally’s Romance Took a Surprising Turn With Pregnancy
Alimna, AKA Ally, had always enjoyed an active social life, often spending her free time going out with friends and embracing the excitement of parties. It was during one of those outings that life took an unexpected turn when she crossed paths with Jonathan “Jon” Pearce. She quickly asked him out on a date, giving them the opportunity to get to know each other better. As they spent more time together, their connection deepened into a meaningful relationship. They began moving forward and found themselves preparing for another new chapter together when Ally found out she was pregnant. By the time filming for the show began, they had already been expecting their child for six months.
However, the joyous news brought a sense of urgency to Jonathan and Ally’s original plans. He wanted to leave everything behind and join his pregnant girlfriend in Singapore so they could raise their child together. According to the series, as a divorced father still living with his former wife, he faced challenges. Moreover, he expressed worry on the show about not having a job lined up in Singapore and having very little savings. Beyond that, the series highlighted another challenge: Ally revealed that her devoted Muslim parents were still unaware of her pregnancy. With time running out, the pair faced the daunting task of informing her family about the truth. Fortunately, it now appears that everything may have worked out for the best for the couple.
Jonathan Has Made a Name For Himself as a Production Supervisor
On the show, Jonathan Pearce, AKA Jon, described himself as a “nerdy mad scientist,” shedding light on the career he has built with dedication. Upon completing his formal education, he began his professional journey as a Senior Systems Technician at Input/Output (now known as ION Geophysical) in May 2002. He worked in that position until June 2004, and then continued to expand his experience at several other organizations. Jonathan took on a series of roles, including Production Manager at Pearce Technologies Inc., Manufacturing Engineer at Geometrics Inc., Production Manager at Solid Seismic LLC, and Production Supervisor at MIND Technology, Inc.
Since August 2025, Jonathan has been working as a Production Supervisor at Davis-Standard. In that role, he focuses on designing and manufacturing sonar equipment. Beyond his professional endeavors, he enjoys watching movies and gathering around the bonfire with his family. Occasionally, he loves soaking up the sun at the beach or attending wine tasting events. Jonathan is also a passionate music lover who frequently attends concerts. He is particularly fond of heavy metal music and loves attending Slipknot’s shows. Another significant part of his heart is devoted to his furry pups, including Darci. In his free time, Jonathan loves exploring different restaurants and trying a variety of cuisines from around the world.
Ally is Making Memories as an Avid Traveler and a Remarkable Friend
Although Alimna, AKA Ally, has always been vocal about her personal life, she has chosen to keep further details of her career under wraps. As of writing, she uses her social media to provide sneak peeks into the experiences and interests that matter most to her, including Get Ready With Me (GRWM) videos. Traveling has always been an integral part of her life. It became highlighted when, despite being busy with school assignments in September 2023, Ally often visited beaches, enjoying the melody of the crashing waves. In January 2024, she journeyed to Phuket, Thailand, where she admired the beauty of the blue ocean.
Three months later, Ally visited Bali, Indonesia, continuing to embrace the tropical surroundings and enjoy beautiful beachside sunsets. Furthermore, she loves exploring cuisines from different countries by visiting various restaurants and cafes. Most recently, in August 2026, she traveled to Vietnam, where she admired the breathtaking landscapes and rich culture with her friend by her side. Ally’s travel to Vietnam made it evident that she places great value on her friendships. From receiving encouraging messages from her friends to attending parties with them, she always reflects on the strong bonds she has cultivated over the years.
Jonathan and Ally Appear to be Keeping the Next Chapter of Their Bond Private
When Jonathan finally arrived in Ally’s homeland, Singapore, the couple ran into each other’s arms at the airport after months apart due to distance and time zones. Despite the unexpected obstacles, they have remained committed to each other and have navigated the challenges that came their way. Ally has never shied away from expressing her feelings for Jonathan and often shares how grateful she is to have fallen in love with someone so generous and kind. In February 2025, the pair took a memorable trip to Amsterdam, Netherlands, and created lifelong memories together. Just five months later, Jonathan and Ally spent their much-needed time together at a beach in Connecticut during one of her visits to his homeland.
Shortly after, Jonathan and Ally spent a romantic day at a wine tasting event. By December 2025, she dedicated a loving message to Jonathan, writing, “Proof that love survives distance, time zones, and my intrusive thoughts. Thank you for being you always, I love you, my bubupiesnugglebob.” In July 2026, Ally further shared pictures and videos of them together from her visit to Connecticut. Whether it’s attending concerts or enjoying long drives, their travels have become one way for them to remain close. Although the pair has not publicly shared more information about welcoming their baby or their next plans, we do hope they are taking steps toward the next chapter of their lives after more than 2 years in a long-distance relationship.
