By the next appointment, his weight dropped to 714.2 lbs. He then moved to Houston, Texas, to participate better in the program. During the move, his trailer broke down, costing him and his wife half of their belongings. However, Julian kept pushing and was approved for weight loss surgery after reaching 705.1 lbs. By the end of the year, his weight had gone down to 639 lbs.

Julian Marquise Valentine continued working hard, setting his sights on the milestone of dipping below 609 lbs by the one-year and two-month mark. However, when he stepped on the scale, it read 623.6 lbs. He confessed before Dr. Nowzaradan that he had not been sticking to the right food. Considering his progress to date, the doctor gave him another three months to shed 100 lbs more. He also asked Julian to get his weight into the 400 lbs range to qualify for skin removal surgery. Recognizing his emotional battles, Dr. Nowzaradan further sent him to consult a therapist. During his therapy session the following month, Julian opened up about the abuse that he claimed to have suffered from his stepfather and how he was eventually kicked out of his home.
The therapist believed that Julian’s trauma had conditioned him to always take care of others before himself. With his therapist’s advice, he volunteered at the local charity to reclaim his sense of self-worth. By one year and seven months, he returned for another appointment, aiming to hit 523 lbs. However, he was disappointed to have lost just 42 lbs, bringing his weight down to 582 lbs. Following that, Dr. Nowzaradan set a new goal for him: to lose 150 lbs more to qualify for the skin removal surgery. By the following month, Julian had succeeded in bringing his weight down to 551 lbs.
Julian Has Transformed His Career With His New Role in Tech Support
Julian Valentine’s transformation extended into every corner of his life. After graduating from Peoria High School in 2007, he spent years confined mostly to his home due to his increasing weight. He took on several temporary remote jobs, trying his best to stay financially afloat. Everything began to shift once he diligently started working for the weight loss program. By the end of the first year, Julian proudly announced that he had landed a new full-time work-from-home job as Help Desk/Tech Support at Majorel USA, one of the leading consumer technology companies. This role offers him both a good salary and benefits. By one year and four months into the program, Julian had followed the advice of his therapist by volunteering at Target Hunger, a local charity.
Alongside this, he has also improved his presence on social media significantly. Whether it be Facebook, Instagram, or TikTok, Julian uses them to share both inspiring and humorous content. Over time, he has garnered a large fan base. Currently, he has over 4K followers on TikTok and over 2K followers on Instagram. He has kept the latter private, which indicates that he has chosen to keep certain details of his personal life away from the spotlight. However, he uses Facebook to showcase his continued physical and emotional progress. In March 2025, he shared how his therapist had asked him to work on his “abandonment wounds.” Julian’s prominent features and increased confidence in the pictures highlight the fact that he has continued to stay on the right track regarding his weight loss journey.
Julian is a Family Man and Loves Spending Quality Time With His Son
Julian has always considered his family as the light that comforted him in his darkest moments. From the beginning, his biggest motivation for his transformation was to become a better husband and, above all, a father. By the one-year and five-month into the program, his dream came true when he and his then-wife, Irma, adopted his younger sister, Brittany’s son. It was a moment of profound meaning. Since then, Julian has never hesitated to put his son first. At times, he even let his own progress take a backseat so he could focus on being present for his son. Their bond has only grown stronger over time. It is quite visible from the snapshots on his Facebook, which capture the love and joy they share. While Irma had been a pillar of support for Julian, it appears that she is no longer present in his life.
Irma’s absence from Julian’s recent social media posts and the “single” relationship on his Facebook are further indicators of the same. There have been some speculations about a new romantic interest for the reality star from a TikTok video that featured a beautiful lady. Since he has not confirmed anything from his side, it only highlights the fact that he has chosen to keep his personal life under wraps. Julian has two sisters – Julia and Brittany. However, his bond with the latter is especially remarkable. He had even confided in his therapist about his regret of leaving Brittany behind in the abusive home they grew up in.
