Multiple Witness Statements Led to the Arrest of Julivia Waller and Eric Greene

Julivia Waller, also known as Sunshine, was born sometime in 1996. Although there isn’t much information available on her early life, we do know that in her adulthood, she gave birth to her daughter. In November 2023, Julivia was living near the 200 block of Springtree Drive in Columbia, South Carolina. According to reports, she occasionally showered and lived in the apartments in the Springtree Complex. There, she became acquainted with 27-year-old Morgan Pressley Duncan, who was listed as a vulnerable individual since he had schizophrenia. He was reported missing by his mother, LaTanza Duncan, in early December 2023. As officials began their investigation, they discovered that he was last seen by his mother on November 28, during the Thanksgiving holiday.

According to the police records, while questioning the neighbors, Julivia approached the detectives on her own. She reportedly claimed that she was unaware of Morgan’s whereabouts. As the investigation progressed, the name of a man, Altariq Cuffie, AKA Jersey, came forward. Officials soon learned that he was allegedly terrorizing the tenants of Morgan’s apartment complex and even took over some apartments. They also discovered that a neighbor named James Kelly was afraid of speaking out about Jersey. Moreover, police reports state that Morgan’s Facebook page led the detectives toward another man named Eric Donnell Greene. When Jersey was brought in for questioning, he claimed that he did not know about Morgan’s disappearance, but asked them to speak to Sunshine, who was Julivia.

During the interrogation of Julivia, she denied having any knowledge of the case. However, according to court records, Jersey claimed that Julivia knew about Morgan’s murder, and it happened in James’ apartment in the presence of both Julivia and Eric. He also alleged that Julivia’s vehicle was used to transport Morgan’s remains. Upon questioning, James reportedly claimed that on that fateful day, Eric and Morgan came into his apartment, where they allegedly argued because Morgan owed Eric money. He claimed in his statements that Eric then choked Morgan to death. Investigative reports state that James and Jersey’s accounts were corroborated. It led to the arrest of Eric on February 1, 2024, and he was charged with the murder of Morgan. Julivia was arrested on February 6, 2024, and was indicted on the charges of murder, resisting arrest, and fleeing custody.

While Julivia Appears to Maintain a Low Profile, Eric is Incarcerated at a State Prison Facility Today

In April 2024, during a preliminary hearing, the murder charge against Julivia was dismissed, and the prosecution reportedly reduced her charges to an accessory after the fact to murder. On May 28, 2025, her defense had requested the court to reduce her bond value from $100k. However, the judge reportedly denied the request. The jury trial of Eric began in July 2025, during which the prosecution presented several witness testimonies, claiming that he strangled Morgan inside an apartment after a dispute between them over drugs.

On the other hand, the defense emphasized inconsistencies in the witness testimonies and contested the evidence presented to the court. Ultimately, Eric was found guilty on July 17, 2025, and was sentenced to 57 years in prison. Although he filed an appeal for his judgment within a week of his conviction, there are no public records documenting the progress of the appeal. According to court records, during the trial of Julivia, the prosecution alleged that she was present at the scene when the murder occurred. They also claimed that her car was used for the transportation of Morgan’s remains.

Julivia’s defense contended that there was insufficient evidence that tied her to her charge or that she knowingly participated in disposing of the remains. Ultimately, the judge found the evidence legally insufficient to take the accessory charge to a jury verdict. In July 2025, the judge granted a directed verdict of not guilty for Julivia. After spending 528 days in prison, she finally walked away a free woman. As of writing, it appears that Julivia is living a quiet life away from the public eye. Eric is currently serving his sentence at Kirkland Correctional Institution in Columbia, South Carolina, with his projected release date being January 16, 2081.
