The filming of Vincent Grashaw’s crime drama ‘Keep Quiet’ starts in Tulsa, Oklahoma, early next year. The film revolves around Crowsnest Tribal Police Department cop Teddy Littlechild (Lou Diamond Phillips), who is tasked with teaching his naive new partner Sandra how policing is different on reservation despite being tormented by a mysterious shame that led him to isolation in the past. Meanwhile, Richie Blacklance, who is on the run for a series of brutal gangland murders, returns to the reservation to lay low. Richie’s return forces Teddy to face his past in hopes of finally finding redemption and ending the cycle of gang violence in his community.
Grashaw, who is known for helming Shudder’s Southern Gothic horror drama ‘What Josiah Saw,’ is directing the movie after shooting Tim Blake Nelson-starrer boxing drama ‘Bang Bang.’ The filmmaker’s credits also include the 2017 drama film ‘And Then I Go’ and the 2013 thriller ‘Coldwater.’ Grashaw served as a co-executive producer of Netflix’s murder mystery film ‘The Pale Blue Eye,’ starring Christian Bale and Harry Melling. Zach Montague, who is making his film debut, penned the movie.
‘La Bamba’ fame Lou recently portrayed Shepherd Barnes in the second season of NBC’s science-fiction series ‘Quantum Leap.’ His popular recent credits include Colonel Victor Taggart in CBS’ legal drama ‘Bull,’ Joe Fabroa in Fox’s ‘The Cleaning Lady,’ John in Max’s dark comedy series ‘Search Party,’ Gil Arroyo in Fox’s procedural drama ‘Prodigal Son,’ and Saúl Guerrero in NBC’s crime drama ‘Blindspot.’ He also lent his voice to Bill Bayani in Disney’s ‘Firebuds’ and Mayor Sancho Santamaria in Netflix’s ‘Trese.’
Dana Namerode, who previously collaborated with Grashaw in ‘What Josiah Saw,’ will play Teddy’s partner Sandra. She is also a part of the cast of the filmmaker’s ‘Bang Bang.’ Nick Stahl, who portrayed Jason Riley in ‘Fear the Walking Dead,’ Matthew Dean in ‘Let the Right One In,’ and Lucas in ‘Tiny Beautiful Things,’ will reunite with Grashaw after ‘What Josiah Saw’ as well.
Tulsa, the main location of the film, previously hosted the shooting of Martin Scorsese’s latest release ‘Killers of the Flower Moon,’ Paramount+’s crime drama ‘Tulsa King,’ and Taika Waititi’s FX on Hulu series ‘Reservation Dogs.’
