Her husband, Kevin Beam, also an alumnus of Hardin-Simmons, was a distinguished athlete who was recognized as a quarterback in the HSU Athletics Hall of Fame. The two married in May 1995 and established their lives in Burleson, Texas, centered on their shared faith, family, and community. They became parents to three daughters named Abigail, Annabel, and Adelynn. The couple’s life turned upside down when they found out around 2007 that one of their three daughters, Annabel, had deadly, incurable medical conditions called pseudo-obstruction motility disorder and antral hypomotility disorder.
The duo tried to get their daughter treated for a few years, often running back and forth between their home in Texas and Boston Children’s Hospital, but to no avail. Kevin and Christy Beam experienced a life-changing event in December 2011 when they found out that their daughter Annabel had fallen into a 30-foot deep pit inside a hollow tree, following which she was miraculously cured of supposedly untreatable medical conditions. Christy and Kevin Beam Lead a Fulfilling Life Today
Christy celebrated Kevin being qualified to run in the famous Boston Marathon in 2019 by posting a picture of him posing after completing the Sprouts Mesa-PHX Marathon. The couple has a very active social life and is featured in multiple posts with their daughters, celebrating various achievements and milestones in the lives of their three children. The couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on May 28, 2020. In June 2021, Kevin celebrated Father’s Day with his three loving daughters. He also enjoys playing golf by a small lake and swimming in pristine waters.
Christy celebrated her 50th birthday on August 9, 2022, by learning how to drive BMW sports cars by doing a two-day driving program at the BMW M-School in South Carolina. In a recent interview with the Grace and Faith Church for a session on miracles on February 16, 2025, Christy and Kevin shared their story and also advocated for faith and opined that people should have a connection with God in their lives. In the same interview, they delivered encouraging messages blending veterinary life with an inspiring testimony.
Around April 2025, the couple went on a trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The duo celebrated the graduation of their miracle child, Annabel, in May 2025, surrounded by other family members and friends. It seems to be a full circle moment for them, ever since they found out that their daughter was diagnosed. The couple seems to be living a happy life following their daughter’s recovery. They most likely still reside in Texas, remain advocates for faith, and continue to share their child’s story with the world.
Christy Beam Continues to Advocate For the Greater Good
After her daughter’s recovery in 2011, Christy authored the memoir titled ‘Miracles From Heaven’ in 2015, which served as the basis for the eponymous film in 2016. Following the publishing of her memoir, she has also been a motivational speaker, sharing her family’s story of faith, hope, and overcoming life’s struggles. She is constantly featured in talks at Churches and other Christian institutions, and also gives interviews related to her family’s story. Christy also started a website to share her story with the world.
On the website, she announced an entity referred to as “The Annabel Fund,” which is officially called the Motility Research and Treatment Discovery Fund. In honor of Annabel, this initiative supports Dr. Sam Nurko’s most pressing priorities: research, patient care, and physician training. Philanthropic contributions are crucial for Dr. Nurko and his team to enhance the lives of more children like Annabel, who require expert diagnosis, innovative therapies, and family-centered care. The website provides her a platform to attract interest in her speeches on the memoir and a means to invite or reach out to her for talks on various platforms.
