From the very first episode of season 2 of Netflix’s ‘Squid Game: The Challenge,’ Player 402, Kevin Diaz stood out as a strategist. While others stumbled through nerves and uncertainty, he exuded a confidence that instantly drew attention. His sharp mind, combined with his natural ability to read people, made him a player who was both admired and feared by his fellow contestants. Claire even remarked that he wasn’t just smart but also dangerous since he was capable of influencing the decisions of others. Kevin was also aware of it, and he could already feel victory within his grasp. Kevin Diaz Believed in Luck Even When He Faced the Risk of Elimination
Once the competition commenced, Kevin Diaz seemed to glide through the chaos with a blend of confidence and uncanny luck. Still, he clung to his belief in his luck and remained certain that it wouldn’t fail him. Sadly, one wrong slide sealed his fate, and he had to say goodbye to the competition.
Kevin’s Team Spirit Shines Both as a Firefighter and Baseball Player
Kevin Diaz completed his higher education in 2013, and he has maintained a competitive spirit since his time at the university. Being a passionate baseball player, he had proudly represented his university team, finding joy in the electric energy of the game. As Kevin moved forward in his life, his journey became more selfless. Driven by a desire to serve and protect, he chose a career as a Firefighter, which demands immense courage and kindness. As of writing, he proudly works for the New York Fire Department. Yet, Kevin’s love for baseball has never faded through it all.
Kevin currently plays for the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) baseball team, Bravest, and represents them in various tournaments. Over the years, he and his teammates have celebrated several thrilling victories, which is a testament to their excellent teamwork. Apart from this, Kevin keeps his competitive flame alive within himself. In November 2025, he conquered the grueling 26.2-mile New York City Marathon, proving his endurance and passion for fitness. Kevin is also a growing Digital Creator who has garnered a large fan base of over 11.5K followers. On the platform, he offers his followers a glance into his personal and professional life.

In his personal life, Kevin always prefers spending his precious time with his family. He shares a very special connection with his parents, especially his mother. She is a significant source of strength and inspiration for him. His entire family stands united beside his mother in raising awareness for parkinson’s disease. In May 2024, they participated in Parkinson’s Unity Walk to support Kevin’s mother in her advocacy journey. He is also very close to his dear sister, Ashley, and her son Edward. Kevin’s family frequently gathers to go to cooking classes and celebrate the festive seasons together. Sadly, they faced an unexpected predicament in October 2022, when Ashley got into a devastating accident that resulted in the loss of one leg. Refusing to stand by helplessly, Kevin put his heart into raising funds for her recovery journey. In all the ups and downs of life, he has another pillar of support—his partner, Yarra Radha. Their paths crossed in 2018, and since then, he has never hesitated to express his love for her, whether through words of affirmation or simply by taking her on romantic dates. In June 2025, the couple shared the most beautiful news that they were expecting their first child.
Just two months later, on August 8, 2025, Yarra gave birth to their beautiful daughter, Kali Shea Diaz. Currently, Kevin has gladly embraced his new role as a devoted girl dad and cherishes every giggle from her. When he’s not with family, he often indulges his love for travel. His journeys have taken him to the beautiful beaches in Tulum, Mexico, in September 2020, followed by a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in February 2023. Additionally, Kevin has experienced the unmatched beauty of Mykonos and Costa Rica. Most recently, in November 2024, he had the opportunity to experience the incredible cityscapes of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with his close friends. Through every challenge and celebration, Kevin leads a life filled with gratitude and love.
