Khloe Wilson: Where is the Beal City High School Student Now?

In late 2020, Lauryn Licari and Owen McKenney began receiving anonymous text messages that quickly escalated into disturbing threats. The situation was reported to Beal City High School in Michigan, where both students attended. During the investigation, one name that surfaced was Khloe Wilson. She was brought in for questioning but fully cooperated, and authorities found no evidence against her. In Netflix’s ‘Unknown Number: The High School Catfish,’ Khloe shared her perspective, detailing how the ordeal unfolded and the lasting impact it had on her.

Khloe Wilson Didn’t Hide Anything When She Was Questioned by the Police

Khloe Wilson grew up in Beal City, Michigan. Her parents, Craig and Tami Wilson, always supported her and were very keen when she showed an interest in sports. At Beal City High School, she had a close circle of friends, one of whom was Owen McKenney. The two had known each other since childhood, but when Owen began dating Lauryn Licari in 7th grade, their friendship weakened. Lauryn described them as very different people, while Owen alleged Khloe had a mean attitude toward Lauryn, which led to distance. Still, they attended the same school and saw each other often.

It was around the 8th grade when Khloe’s parents were called to her school as she was facing allegations of bullying and targeting other students. Nothing came of it, but Khloe said it was a complete lie, further claiming she mostly stayed with her friends and didn’t pay attention to anyone else. In early 2021, when Owen and Lauryn began receiving disturbing texts from an unknown number, the police got involved. The messages were very explicit, and when Lauryn noticed that things she said at basketball practice were being quoted in the texts, she was asked if she suspected anyone; she named Khloe.

Khloe’s parents immediately came to her defense and denied that she had anything to do with the situation. She was even called in for questioning, during which she maintained that she had nothing against her classmates and would never do such a thing. At the time, some suggested that because her father was a police officer, she knew how to cover her tracks, but this was purely speculation. She willingly handed over her phone for a search, and once everything was downloaded, there was no indication of her involvement. Ultimately, in December 2022, police arrested Kendra Licari, Lauryn’s mother, for the texts, finally putting the matter to rest.

Khloe Wilson Is Building Her Future as a College Athlete Today

Khloe Wilson expressed her sympathy for Lauryn Licari and what she had to endure because of her mother’s actions. She said she could not imagine experiencing something like that. She admitted that friendships and the ease everyone once shared had withered in the aftermath of the incident and left behind distrust and tension. Still, Khloe chose to focus on moving forward with her life. In May 2025, she graduated alongside her classmates and marked an exciting new chapter by signing with Montcalm Community College to continue her volleyball career, with her proud parents sitting beside her during the signing. She has big plans for her future and hopes to keep growing as both a student and an athlete. While she recognizes her talent, she has chosen not to share too much about her personal life in the public eye. For now, she appears eager to embrace all that lies ahead.
