As the race continued through Romania and Greece, they maintained consistent mid-to-high placements, proving they could adapt to changing geographic challenges and unexpected detours. Their teamwork paid off well, with both taking on crucial Roadblocks at key moments. Entering Italy in the final stretch, Taylor and Kyland had proven themselves as a strong duo who were capable of pushing through pressure as they chased a spot in the finale.
Kyland and Taylor Have Decided to End Their Relationship
Taylor Hale and Kyland Young first crossed paths through the Big Brother community, even though they competed on different seasons. Kyland was a contestant in Season 23, and Taylor in Season 24. Their connection grew quietly over time, long before audiences ever saw them race together. Neither ever confirmed when they were romantically involved, largely because they intentionally kept their relationship extremely private. They maintained that privacy right up until ‘The Amazing Race’ 38, where they finally appeared together publicly as a couple. Filming for the season took place around March 2025, and Kyland later spoke openly about what their dynamic had been during that period.
He explained that their relationship had been on and off for a couple of years before the show, and while racing, they were genuinely trying to make things work more seriously. Except for one dinner that they once stepped out for, picked up on, they kept their dating life entirely out of the public eye. The secrecy wasn’t because they were hiding something dramatic, but because they valued a low-profile approach and wanted space to figure things out without outside pressure. After the season finished filming, and even in the early period after it, they continued exploring the relationship. However, Kyland confirmed that they eventually decided to part ways. He made it clear that the breakup was not the result of a major fight, cheating scandal, or any dramatic event. Instead, he said that the challenges they were each facing in their personal lives made it difficult to continue building something long-term. Their individual circumstances simply didn’t align in a way that allowed the relationship to grow.
Kyland also addressed speculation by acknowledging his own mistakes, saying, “We had our struggles, and there were definitely times when I let Taylor down and caused her pain, and I fully own that. But I’m not going to let people twist any of this into something it wasn’t or make excuses to harass me, other people, and especially Taylor.” Today, Kyland and Taylor remain cordial and supportive of one another. They still follow each other on social media and maintain a cordial connection despite no longer being together. When asked whether a reconciliation could ever happen, Kyland has said he simply doesn’t know what the future holds. For now, both are focusing on their individual paths, but Taylor has chosen not to publicly comment on the relationship at all.
Kyland and Taylor Use Their Fame to Champion Bigger Causes
Taylor Hale and Kyland Young have continued to build strong and visible careers as entertainers. Taylor, a former Miss Michigan USA and the historic winner of ‘Big Brother’ season 24, as she was the first Black woman to do so, has grown into a prominent media personality and advocate. She works as a model, host, and speaker and uses her platform to champion mental health, women’s empowerment, and racial equity. She collaborates with major brands and frequently appears on podcasts and panels discussing reality TV, culture, and representation.
Kyland Young, who was one of the finalists on ‘Big Brother’ Season 23, has expanded his work across entertainment and tech. He is known as a reality TV star and content creator, producing digital projects focused on storytelling and social impact. He is also well-recognized as a contestant on ‘The Challenge’ season 40. He has been open about his struggles with ADHD and autism and strongly advocates as a “Blaxican” (Black and Mexican) celebrity.
