Lifetime has added an intriguing teen drama to its upcoming slate! Moviedelic can reveal that the network has ordered the television film ‘Dateless to Dangerous.’ The project will enter production in Hamilton, Ontario, in November. The plot follows a depressed teenager who, feeling isolated and rejected, finds solace in an online fringe group that only deepens his anger, threatening to take him down a dark path. The TV movie’s cast and crew are currently under wraps.
Lifetime also recently ordered the true crime thriller ‘Terror Comes Knocking,’ which will start filming in Hamilton, Ontario, later this month. With Felipe Rodriguez on board as the director, the TV movie will depict the real-life story of the members of a family who are held hostage and face death threats while being extorted for a ransom they cannot afford.
The network has released several projects that delve into the complex struggles of teenagers and their families, similar to what we can expect in ‘Dateless to Dangerous.’ ‘He Slid Into Her DMs’ is a cautionary tale about a popular high schooler named Berni, whose seemingly perfect life as a social media influencer unravels after her best friend’s betrayal.
Another recent release from Lifetime, ‘Nobody Dumps My Daughter,’ directed by Stanley Brooks, further explores destructive family dynamics. The narrative follows a grieving mother who, after experiencing a personal loss, becomes unhealthily fixated on her teenage daughter’s social life. When her daughter goes through a breakup, the mother’s overbearing concern pushes her to the brink of instability, leading her to take extreme and controlling actions.
