Maintaining a lovely relationship can be hard with added pressure from several prying eyes, which is often evident in ‘Married at First Sight’ couples. Lindy Elloway and Miguel Santiago, both hailing from San Diego at that time, had to face the same fate with their introduction on season 15 of the show. They were one of the most compatible couples from the very start and shared several tender moments and major difficulties while navigating their connection. However, the pressure of their surrounding soon started getting to them, and problems became more frequent. Their union set up a major example of how bonds forged under unconventional circumstances can be tricky, keeping the audience invested in their story.
Lindy and Miguel Faced Challenges With Their Compatibility
From their first meeting at the altar, the chemistry between Lindy and Miguel was instant, and they seemed utterly smitten with each other. Things were fine until they began living together and started opening up and discussing complex topics more with each other. Issues with communication often arose between the two and usually led to disagreements. However, they constantly showcased an unmatched commitment and put in the extra work to understand each other’s perspectives. They frequently sought out the help of the experts on the show to work out their differences. Despite the hurdles, on Decision Day, the duo expressed their affection and decided to continue their marriage, choosing to focus on the positive aspects of their union.
Lindy and Miguel Announced Their Divorce in 2023
Following Lindy and Miguel’s optimism on Decision Day, their fans were hopeful for their happy future together. However, everything came crashing down as soon as more complexities in their love story popped up. They failed to be on the same page and announced their divorce in February 2023. Following their divorce, the former couple took to their social media to update their fans that it was a hard pill for them to swallow and that they cared deeply for each other and yet failed to be right for one another.
Lindy revealed that it was hard being in a marriage where both individuals were not committed equally to its success. She explained her journey on the reality show as “a very painful, overwhelming & confusing process.” On the other hand, Miguel expressed that he wished her to find all the love and happiness that she deserves and thanked her for enriching his life with countless lessons. From there, the once-duo decided to go their separate ways since they believed it was the most healthy choice for their personal growth.
Lindy is Now a Flight Attendant and an Avid Traveler
Lindy was born and raised in Olympia, Washington, and has a doctorate in Physical therapy from Western University of Health Sciences in 2018. In her career as a physical therapist, she has worked for several organizations and, following the end of the show, has been working as a part-time physical therapist with Sharp Healthcare. In September 2023, she finally revealed that she had officially become a flight attendant and exclaimed her excitement that she would finally receive incredible travel perks, ultimately helping her meet the goal of 4 international journeys in a year. Although she now works full-time as an air hostess, Lindy has continued to work two physical therapy jobs in different settings and is paid daily instead of a fixed salary.
Apart from her professional life, the reality TV personality has a massive passion for traveling and also tries to share encouragement with her followers to embark on more journeys through her social media. She has been taking trips to different exotic locations for years, with her most recent journeys to Mexico, Hawaii, Germany, Ireland, and Japan throughout 2024. However, the list of her voyages tends to go much further with her visits to picturesque places like Greece, Peru, Bali, Venice, and so on. The flight attendant has already adjusted well into her new career for over a year now and did not leave her wishes for adventurous explorations unfulfilled. Recently, in September 2024, she also met up with Noi Phommasak from season 14, and the duo joked about how they were never going to appear on reality TV ever again and shared that they have ended up bonding with each other on their trauma.
Lindy is very close to her family and has expressed her intention to visit South Africa in 2025 to reconnect with her mother’s roots since she was born and brought up there. Despite her busy schedule, she has made sure to visit Seattle occasionally to spend quality time with her brother, sister, and nephew. She also did not fail to take a vacation with her long-time best friend, Andrew Sharman, and jokingly pointed out to her followers that it was not her best friend. She also has a tight friendship with her fellow female costars Krysten, Alexis, and Stacia and went on a fabulous girls’ trip out in Tulum, Mexico, in 2024, which was filled with happiness and shared experiences. From what we know, the reality star is now single and continues sharing glimpses of her travels and personal growth on her digital platform.
Miguel Has Continued His Career in the Medical Sector
Miguel Santiago, originally from Manhattan, New York, relocated to Puerto Rico when his parents got divorced. During the show, the TV star worked remotely as a medical director at RevHealth and was employed at the organization until September 2024. Currently, he is a medical science liaison at AbbVie, which is a pharmaceutical manufacturing company in North Chicago. Currently based in San Diego, he has been gradually growing his presence on social media and has been using the platform to take viewers through the journey of his health condition and personal growth. Shortly after his divorce from Lindy, he revealed that he was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis and a herniated disc, which caused him extreme pain. Ultimately, he had to undergo a major spinal surgery in March 2024 and has been journaling his recovery journey with his followers to act as a source of information for anyone who was going through a similar experience. Apart from his spinal health journey, he also maintains a separate account where the reality TV star shares heartfelt poems that he wrote himself and tries to express his emotions through writing.
He has also been traveling a lot, visiting Puerto Rico to spend time with his father, stepmother Nisay Cruz, and little sister Yaci Santiago in April 2023, highlighting the strong and loving relationship between the family. He then set out to explore the blue waters and bright beaches of Hawaii with his friends in May 2024. Surprisingly enough, we can see that Morgan, one of his female costars from the show, was also present with him on the trip, and from the way they referred to each other as “homies” and “sista from another mista,” it is evident that they have reconnected and have been fostering an unbreakable bond by now. After these travels, he embarked on his journey to Mexico in September 2024 and Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada, in October of the same year.
In June 2024, he teased a picture of a mystery woman with whom he went on a dinner at the classy and Parisian-themed restaurant Barrel & Board, which raised speculation about whether it was Morgan or someone else. We did not have to wait much longer to find out that it was Lindsay Sumner, who we believe is his new partner by the way the duo stood next to each other happily smiling and were on a weekend gateway to the beach away from the chaos of the world. Miguel has also been on good terms with Justin Hall, another of his costars, and has also been spending his time catching up with his friends and making incredible memories.
