With 20 minutes down, Tiffany compliments the vision of Adam and Joel’s dish and wishes them good luck. The duo agrees that their dish is complex and will showcase technique. With just 5 minutes remaining on the clock, Tiffany notes that Adam and Joel have much going on.

Gordon is also worried about Ricky and Ashley’s pasta, as they have used more flour to ensure the dough is not too soft. As the final seconds come to an end, Ashley expresses her frustration because she feels the plating of the pasta is “disgusting.” During the menu tasting, Tiffany agrees that the plating is messy and observes that the sauce lacks a little. Gordon also points out that the pasta needs a little more sauce. After tasting Adam and Joel’s preparation, all the judges unanimously agree that it is cooked beautifully. However, Gordon observes that it could be a little crisper. After a careful discussion, the judges find Ricky and Ashley’s dish to be the best one.

Gordon reassures the other duo that their dish demonstrates incredible technique. In their exit interview, Adam and Joel acknowledge that cooking pasta in 30 minutes, like their opponents, is truly tough. Although they are disappointed, they are happy to have come on the show.
