Mistletoe Murders Renewed For Season 2 at Hallmark

A beloved detective duo from Fletcher’s Grove will be back soon! Moviedelic can confirm that Hallmark has renewed the crime drama series ‘Mistletoe Murders’ for its second season. The principal photography for the upcoming installment will start in Toronto, Ontario, in March this year. Ken Cuperus, who created the show, will continue to lead the writers, with Grant Harvey set to return as a director.

In the show’s first season, a good-natured Christmas shop owner named Emily Lane teams up with Detective Sam Wilner to solve local murders. However, Sam is in the dark about Emily’s talents as a detective, which may be related to her past life, from which she has moved on. As the duo solves crimes, we also see an angle of romance form, which is more inclined toward Sam than Emily. However, the mystery behind her skills makes Sam question whether there’s more to her than he knows.

The cliffhanger in the first installment’s finale will have its resolution in the sophomore season. We may also find out if Sam and Emily confess their feelings for each other or not because it seems like it’s high time. We will get new cases, and they can be expected to be of higher stakes. Sam will most likely try to learn more about Emily’s past life, which possibly means that a chunk of the upcoming installment will take us back in time. His search will naturally introduce more interesting characters and maybe even a hidden side of Emily that has contributed to her love for solving puzzling crimes. The most intriguing question is: Why is Emily hiding it?

Considering all these possibilities, we can expect Sarah Drew as Emily Lane, Peter Mooney as Sam Wilner, Sierra Marilyn Riley as Violet Wilner, and Kylee Evans as Brooke Carmichael to appear in the upcoming second season. It remains to be seen whether new faces will also be featured in the forthcoming episodes.

Toronto also served as the filming location for the first season of the detective drama. The city has previously hosted the shooting of numerous high-profile projects like Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ‘FUBAR’ and Prime Video’s ‘Reacher’ and ‘The Boys.’
