Muriel Henriquez: Where is the Ex-Co-Worker of Rex Heuermann Now?

The revelations surrounding the Gilgo Beach Killer were deeply unsettling and sparked a lot of public outcry and fear. The suspect, Rex Heuermann, garnered intense scrutiny, with numerous acquaintances coming forward to share their experiences with him. In Netflix’s ‘Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer,’ Muriel Henriquez, a former employee who had worked closely with Heuermann in a professional setting, offered her perspective. She reflected on her interactions with him and addressed questions about whether she had observed any alarming behavior during their time working together.

Muriel Henriquez Claimed She Got a Letter From Rex Heuermann While She Was on Vacation

Muriel Henriquez, originally from Haiti, relocated to the US in pursuit of a career and new opportunities. She attended the New York Institute of Technology and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Technology. Her professional journey led her to RH Consultants & Associates, a company owned by Rex Andrew Heuermann, where she first met him. As a valued employee, she recalled that during the summer of 2007, Heuermann gifted her a sweater his wife, Asa Ellerup, had brought back from Iceland during one of her trips.

Since Heuermann’s arrest, Muriel has stated that she no longer wears the sweater he gifted her, believing he may have used the opportunity to allegedly kill Maureen Brainard-Barnes. She disappeared on July 9, 2007. Reflecting on her experiences with him, she mentioned that she never noticed anything alarming or concerning, describing him as a “nerd.” According to her, Heuermann often talked about himself and described him as “pompous.” She also recalled that his favorite go-to meal was pizza, which he frequently grabbed while running between job sites. Additionally, Muriel shared an incident involving a co-worker who had visited Heuermann’s home in Massapequa Park, New York, to take measurements for a project. The co-worker found it odd when Heuermann allegedly refused to let her enter the basement.

In July 2023, Heuermann was arrested, and over 300 firearms were recovered from his home. Muriel expressed that while she knew him to be an avid hunter, she was shocked by the sheer number of weapons. She also recalled an unsettling incident from her past. For her 40th birthday, she had planned a cruise. When Heuermann inquired about her trip, she jokingly mentioned that she would be in the middle of the ocean where he wouldn’t be able to find her. However, according to her, he said that he could find her anywhere. On the second day of her vacation, she said she was startled to receive a white envelope at her cabin door. It was allegedly from her then-boss, with a message that read, “I told you I could find you anywhere.”
