‘NCIS: Tony & Ziva’ finds the titular protagonist backed into a peculiar corner. In Paris, both Tony and Ziva are chasing after relatively mundane lives while co-parenting their daughter Tali. Nonetheless, it soon becomes evident that a conspiracy is afoot to frame Tony, now the owner of a private security company, for a string of cyber heists. This compels the parents to send their daughter away to a hideaway while embarking on an illicit investigation of their own, in which the hacking software 9.4 remains their biggest lead. The program encapsulated within a thumb drive brings themes to its creators, which, in turn, reveal a part of their adversaries’ menacing schemes. As it turns out, the defence contractor company Reigning Fire Peacekeeping Solutions is high on the antagonist’s list of targets. The company adds heightened stakes to the narrative and raises intrigue about the level of reality behind the storytelling element.
Reigning Fire Peacekeeping Solutions is a Fictional Company With Some Realistic Context
Despite being a crime-centric drama show, ‘NCIS: Tony & Ziva’ charts a largely fictitious tale. As a result, the storyline and the characters, along with most of the narrative elements, also remain works of fiction. For the same reason, Reigning Fire Peacekeeping Solutions, introduced as an instrumental plot device, is confined within the show’s fictional world and conceptualized to progress the plot further. In real life, there’s no France-based defence company specializing in drone technology that shares the same name as the on-screen company. Yet, although the business is fictional, it’s still surrounded by some realistic circumstances.
For one, France is a significantly large hub for drone companies and startups, making up the largest drone market in Europe. Known names like Delair, Parrot, and Delta Drone, all leading drone manufacturer companies, have long sported production and warehousing facilities in France. Additionally, there are numerous other smaller companies and startups that have found a home in France. Although none of these properties have any direct links to Reigning Fire Peacekeeping Solutions or its on-screen storylines, they provide helpful and realistic context for the industry and its connection to the show’s central location.
In ‘NCIS: Tony & Ziva,’ the defence company, headed by Aaron Graves, promises to play an instrumental role as their drone devices become a hidden target of the elusive Martine and her corrupt group. Thanks to the hacking device they’re in possession of, they can directly tap into these drones and use them for their own nefarious purposes. This adds high-stakes danger and drama to the narrative, compelling the protagonists, Tony and Ziv, to take bigger and bolder steps. Furthermore, it adds pressure on the Interpol side of things, adding pressure on Henry’s character. Ultimately, the addition of Reigning Fire Peacekeeping Solutions introduces a critical overdramatized undercurrent to the story that fits in well with the franchise. However, the fictional company’s realistic setting allows the plot line to become more balanced and grounded.
