Nichole Jolly’s Husband and Kids Are Still Her Guiding Light Today

It was November 8, 2018, when Northern California’s Butte County was left baffled to the core as a wildfire suddenly spread across several communities, largely destroying every aspect of it. The incident soon became known as Camp Fire, yet instead of focusing on the negatives, people came together and even rallied for emergency service providers as they put their own lives at risk to help others. Amongst them was local surgical nurse Nichole Jolly, a happily married mother of three, whose story is now forever commemorated in Lifetime’s ‘Faith in the Flames: The Nichole Jolly Story.’

Nichole Jolly’s Husband and Kids Are Her Primary Source of Motivation

While it’s unclear precisely when Paradise, California, native Nichole Jolly first came across the love of her life, Nic Jolly, it’s evident they share a beautiful, happy, healthy, and lasting relationship. They both graduated from Paradise High School before kickstarting their careers — she pursued further education and became a nurse, whereas he stepped into construction, all the while building a life together. Therefore, by the time 2018 rolled around, they had tied the knot, welcomed two beautiful sons — Jordan in 2006, followed by Logan a couple of years later — and were fostering their niece Lilly.

According to reports, as per routine, Nichole left for work at the Adventist Health Feather River Hospital early in the morning of November 8, 2018, unaware her world would soon turn upside down. It was shortly before 7:30 am when alarms started blaring for evacuation due to a wildfire, so she spent the ensuing 45 minutes ensuring all admitted patients were transferred to nearby medical centers. Only then did she get in her car and decide to go to the Enloe Medical Center in Chico, knowing they would require additional manpower, yet she herself got caught in a fire tornado minutes later.

That’s when Nichole called her husband in the hopes he could help, but as soon as Nic said he was going to come for her, she realized there was no way he would be able to make it safely or in time. Thus, her response to him was to simply tell him to hug their three kids on her behalf and get them to a secure place because she didn’t think she was going to make it — she was surrounded by fire and smoke. However, Nic didn’t let her give up and pushed her to run, urging her to get out of her car and get as far away as possible, which she did since she knew she wanted more time with her loving family. Just the mere thought of them kept the 34-year-old nurse going.

Nichole Jolly’s Family Remains a Tight-Knit Group

While it’s true that Nichole ultimately found herself inside a fire engine and surrounded by firefighters as she tried to escape, even this vehicle was soon full of toxic smoke, with nowhere to go. Thanks to a bulldozer suddenly coming around and paving the way, they all went in the only direction the engine could, back to the Feather River Hospital, where a triage point had already been set up. Therefore, realizing she could help, the nurse immediately got to work, and it wasn’t until 4 pm that she left in a co-worker’s car and got treatment herself for leg burns and smoke inhalation. Yet, it wasn’t until an hour later that she finally breathed a sigh of relief as she was reunited with her husband and kids, who had all made it out to safety without issues.

Unfortunately, the Jolly family lost their house in this fire, so despite the fact that it was hard for them, they subsequently asked their community for help by setting up a PayPal account and a GoFundMe page. Since then, though, they have managed to get back on their own two feet and now lead a life surrounded by pets like horses, dogs, and chickens, rodeo trips, and fishing as well as hunting experiences. In other words, even with the ups and downs they have faced in the past few years, they are still a tight-knit family who prioritizes quality time with one another over everything else, which is honestly very heartwarming to see.

While Nic Jolly is a Proud Entrepreneur, the Kids Are Still Finding Their Path

Coming to their individual standings, while Nichole continues to serve as a nurse and emergency service provider, her husband, Nic, is a proud blue-collar worker with his own construction business. Jolly Construction actually rebuilt a lot of homes in its community of Paradise, California, offering customers full services at a fair price to ensure they could soon get back on their feet again too. As for Jordan, who graduated from Paradise High School in 2023 right alongside his longtime cheerleader girlfriend Olivia Carney, it appears as if they are still head over heels in love.

From what we can tell, since Jordan also has a passion for football and was a good varsity player, he currently seems focused on pursuing this sport further, all the while dabbling in carpentry too. As for Logan, he is still a student at Paradise High School, where he is utterly dedicated to not only his studies but also their chapter of the Future Farmers of America (FFA). In fact, the senior (‘Class of 2026) was appointed President this year, and he appears determined to do whatever is required of him to succeed. He is also raising a hog for the second time for the Silver Dollar Fair. As for Lilly, since she is still a minor and hasn’t featured on Nichola’s social media pages for a while now, little is known about her current whereabouts as of writing.
