The Windy City will be home to Georgia Bernstein’s feature directorial debut from next month! The filming of the erotic thriller ‘Night Nurse’ will start in October in Chicago, Illinois. As previously announced, Mimi Rogers and Cemre Paksoy will headline the movie, written by Bernstein.
Set in a secluded retirement community, the narrative follows a naive nurse who becomes captivated by a series of unsettling scam calls. Her fascination intensifies when she uncovers that the mastermind behind these calls is none other than one of her patients, a charming con artist. What begins as an innocent flirtation soon spirals into a mutual desire for deceit and manipulation.
Bernstein commented on the project, saying, “Night Nurse inhabits the central fantasy that allures the victim to their scammer. Unrealized desires drive my characters to trust the untrustworthy and to risk everything.”
Rogers recently portrayed Honey Chandler in ‘Bosch: Legacy,’ in which her character works alongside the titular private investigator as he embarks on a new chapter in his career. She starred as Mimi in ‘Four Ladies Dancing’ and played Judith in ‘What Still Remains,’ which follows a young woman who fights for survival in a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by disease. Rogers took on the role of Judith Cabot Baines in ‘Affairs of State,’ a political thriller that follows a campaign aide entangled in a dangerous affair with a presidential candidate’s wife and daughter.
Paksoy’s prominent credits include Nihal in the Netflix drama ‘As the Crow Flies,’ in which a young fan manipulates her way into a veteran anchor’s newsroom, only to face the darker side of ambition, envy, and the need for recognition. She also appeared as Gökçe in ‘Sakli’ and Alex in ‘Easy.’
Bernstein previously helmed the short film ‘Snugglr’ and its web series adaptation of the same title, which also featured Paksoy. In this series, Cemre’s character finds herself in bizarre situations, fully dressed and in bed with various individuals, each seeking something beyond just a simple snuggle in their own peculiar way.
Other notable productions filmed in Chicago include ‘The Killer’ and ‘Bridesmaids.’
