Olympo Season 2: What to Expect?

Netflix’s ‘Olympo’ dives into the world of sports as the athletes compete to be the best in their fields. While it seems all fun and games on the surface, a deeper cut reveals the insecurities and the pressure that each individual faces, and what makes the show more interesting is the extent to which they are all ready to go to get what they want. The first season focuses on Amaia’s effort to expose the prevalent use of drugs and other performance-enhancing chemicals, but ends on a bleak note as she herself falls to the vices she was trying to fight against. The finale raises more questions than answers, and the next season is expected to shed more light on these issues. Netflix is yet to officially renew the series for another season, but given the production timeline, we don’t expect ‘Olympo’ Season 2 to land on the streaming service until late 2026.

Olympo Season 2 Will Deal With the Fallout of Amaia’s Choice

At the beginning of ‘Olympo,’ Amaia appears to be the only person who seems interested in weeding out all the drug users and getting them out of HPC. Despite her best efforts, Olympo manages to keep its drugs a secret, and this leads her to relent to their coaxing, and from the looks of it, she ends up using the drugs herself. The next season will focus on the repercussions of her decision to choose Olympo despite everything. Particularly, it will focus on her own guilt of doing the very thing that she tried to pull her friends out of.

At the same time, Zoe hands the blue vial to the ADA, which signifies that they now have the means to dredge out whatever secrets Olympo has been hiding all along. This discovery is meant to have an adverse impact on anyone who was drugged up at some point, which now includes Amaia. It will be interesting to see how she reacts when she is accused of using drugs to enhance her performance. More importantly, it remains to be seen how Olympo will react to Zoe’s betrayal and what new thing they will come up with to prevent their criminal activities from being exposed.

Olympo Season 2 Will Flip the Narrative on Amaia and Her Friends

The first season of ‘Olympo’ shows Amaia as the sole fighter against the titular company’s shady practices. For her efforts, she is shunned by everyone around her, and reaches such a low point that she doesn’t have anyone left by her side anymore. Of course, things start to change when her friends realise that she was right, but by the time they switch to the right side, she has crossed over to the wrong one. In the second season, this flip will put Amaia and her friends in each other’s crosshairs, especially as some of them will face the consequences of using the drugs and might even see their careers jeopardised because of it.

As the story continues, we will find out more about Olympo’s origins as well as the drug that they have concocted to such perfection that it doesn’t show up on a blood test either. The sophomore season will also expand the storylines of the characters who have been on the sidelines so far. For example, there is Fatima, who had the unfortunate accident right before the day of her performance, and Peque, who came close to realising her dream, but had the opportunity wrested from her yet again. We also expect to see the show raise more moral and ethical issues prevalent in the world of sports. The first season touches upon homophobia, which severely impacts Roque’s future. The next season is expected to expand upon this, while also opening the door to other dark and problematic things that athletes have to suffer to get what they want.

Olympo Season 2 Might Introduce New Athletes to the HPC

Should ‘Olympo’ receive a second season, the main cast is expected to reprise their roles. Clara Galle as Amaia, Nira Oshaia as Zoe, Nuno Gallego as Cristian, and Agustín Della Corte as Roque are essential to the storyline. Supporting actors like María Romanillos as Nuria, Juan Perales as Seas, and Andy Duato as Renata also remain crucial to the storyline. Because more focus is expected to turn on Olympo, Nico Furtado as Hugo Teixeira, Melina Matthews as Jana Castro, and Jesús Rubio as Iker Delallave are expected to take up more space in the storyline.

With Olympo emerging victorious at the end of the season, the HPC is expected to go through some major changes, which means that new characters are expected to join the fore. These could be new athletes who come to the HPC with the hopes of training hard and competing in the Olympics. Additionally, the new characters could also fill the space of the trainers and coaches who are either fired or resign from the HPC after Olympo strengthens its hold on the HPC and breaks all norms and protocols to get what they want. This means that there is a whole new storm that can yet be stirred at the elite academy, and unexpected secrets and lies can come to the fore.
