When 21-year-old Orealius Nelson Jr. passed away under mysterious circumstances in North Charleston, South Carolina, in May 2025, shockwaves were sent across the entire community while grief took over his loved ones. With not much evidence at the scene of the crime, the detectives struggled to get a break in the case. Orealius Nelson Jr. Was Found Bleeding to Death in His Condominium Complex
Born around 2004 in James Island, South Carolina, Orealius Nelson Jr. was known for his compassionate and kind nature. After growing up, he relocated to North Charleston, South Carolina, where he settled in the Woodhill Place Community in the 6200 block of Rolling Fork Road. The man with big dreams and a bright future ahead of him, Orealius, had the ability to light up even the dullest of rooms with his mere presence. Unfortunately, all his dreams were shattered in the spring of 2025 when he met his untimely and sudden demise. In the early hours of May 4, 2025, the North Charleston Police Department received a 911 call reporting an individual who was banging on the windows and doors of residences in the 6200 block of Rolling Fork Road, asking for help.
When the officers arrived at the scene, they found 21-year-old Orealius Nelson Jr. injured and bleeding out, lying in a pool of blood on the floor in the entrance of the 6221 building in the condominium complex. The detectives noticed blood on the walkway that led to the site where Orealius’ remains were found. As per reports, the 21-year-old had a faint pulse when the authorities arrived. As his pulse began fading, an officer performed CPR until the EMS arrived. They pronounced him dead on the scene. The autopsy revealed that the cause of his death was a fatal gunshot wound to the leg.
Orealius Nelson Jr’s Killer Has Yet to be Identified and Apprehended
In order to get to the bottom of the case, the authorities interviewed the neighbors and potential witnesses in the Woodhill Place Community, hoping to get a lead or two about the perpetrator responsible for Orealius Nelson Jr’s killing. However, no significant evidence or clues were found at the crime scene or in the neighbors’ statements. They also searched the surrounding area to check if anybody else was hurt. Despite their best efforts, the detectives couldn’t track down the killer in the first 48 hours after the crime, making the case all the more complicated. More than a year has passed, and the North Charleston Police Department is still investigating the case, hoping to apprehend the killer and provide Orealius’ loved ones closure and justice.
