Since Orlando Euell was a loving and kind-hearted person, the entire community of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, received the news of his demise as a shock. His mysterious and tragic murder was investigated by the detectives, who moved heaven and earth to get to the bottom of the case. Thanks to the surveillance footage of the area where the crime took place, they managed to find a crucial lead that pointed them in the direction of the perpetrator. Investigation Discovery’s ‘The Murder Tapes: I Did Something Real Bad’ chronicles the gruesome murder of Orlando through exclusive interviews with his loved ones and the officials linked to the investigation.
Orlando Euell Was Found Dead on the Side of the Street
Born on January 30, 1974, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Orlando S. Euell Sr. was known to be a friendly individual who didn’t hesitate to help out his loved ones. After graduating from the North Division Charter High School, he reportedly attended the International Culinary School at the Art Institute of Wisconsin. At the time of his untimely passing, he was employed at Dycora Transitional Health Care. Since he preferred to keep his personal life under wraps, all we can tell is that he was married, seemingly to the woman of his dreams.
On the fateful day of May 8, 2019, the police were called to South 25th and West Pierce Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, after a shooting incident. As the authorities arrived at the crime scene, they found 45-year-old Orlando on the side of the street in critical condition. Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of the paramedics, they were unable to save him as he succumbed to a single gunshot wound to the neck. While inspecting the scene of the crime, the investigators discovered his cell phone, through which they positively identified him. Without wasting any time, the authorities launched a homicide investigation.
Negotiation Between Orlando Euell and the Killer Turned Deadly For the Former
As part of the investigation, the detectives checked out security footage of the neighborhood in order to get a lead in the case. One of the surveillance cameras revealed that Orlando Euell’s remains were tossed out of the passenger seat of a dark gray sedan. They also retrieved an ATM receipt from a nearby gas station. Trying to get a clearer picture, the investigators asked around and learned that he had met his father at the gas station to get his debit card. The footage at the gas station revealed that Orlando got into the backseat of the same dark gray sedan, unaware that it would lead to his death. The detectives got a break in the case when someone tipped them off about the suspicious vehicle, which was found soaked in gasoline.
Upon tracking the license plate of the car, they were led to a woman named Keaira Walker. While they searched for her across the city of Milwaukee, one of the suspects’ longtime friends testified that she was in the car with Keaira, Orlando, and another friend on the fateful day of May 8, 2019. The friend claimed that Orlando approached them to get some drugs and told them that he would buy some for $200 in a couple of hours. However, when he got inside the car with them later in the day, he allegedly informed Keaira that he only wanted to spend $40, and not $200. This change of his heart sparked a heated argument between the two, during which Keaira pulled a gun on him. A struggle ensued, and Orlando even reportedly said that she would have to shoot him to get the money.
Soon, she pulled the trigger, after which Orlando grabbed the gun before another shot was fired. This time, it struck him and he fell out of the car. When the police questioned the second witness inside the car, she too had a similar story. Upon digging deeper into Keaira Walker’s life and past, the detectives learned that she was a former convict out on parole. In June 2017, she was sentenced to three years in prison for armed robbery. She was released in November 2018, but was serving three years of extended supervision. A week after the murder of Orlando Euell, on May 15, 2019, Keaira was arrested and charged with felony murder, attempted armed robbery, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. She was then booked into the Milwaukee County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Keaira Walker is Currently Incarcerated at a Wisconsin Prison Facility
On March 10, 2020, Keaira Walker pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree reckless homicide and use of a dangerous weapon. In exchange for her admission of guilt, two of her other charges, including attempted armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon, were dismissed. Several months later, on September 11, the convict was finally sentenced to 16 years in prison. On top of that, she was also sentenced to 10 years of extended supervision, with credit for 489 days that she spent behind bars prior to her sentencing. As of today, Keaira Walker is serving her sentence at Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, with her discharge date scheduled for 2045.
