Los Angeles, the home of Hollywood, is about to have a stellar feature get-together as Owen Wilson and Penélope Cruz, along with Jude Law, Kieran Culkin, and Emma Mackey, will join forces for Nancy Meyers’s comedy drama ‘Paris Paramount.’ Meyers also wrote the screenplay. Filming will take place between May 13 and September 17 this year. The release date is December 25, 2027.

According to early reports, the story centers on a young writer-director who falls in love with a producer. The pair make several successful films before breaking up, both romantically and professionally. They are forced back together when a new, great project arises, and they find themselves dealing with high stakes and volatile stars. It remains to be seen how much of this is shown on screen, since the plot is said to have changed since it was first shut down by Netflix in 2023 due to budget issues with Meyers.
Owen Wilson’s latest performance was as washed-up professional golfer Pryce Cahill in the Apple TV+ gold comedy series ‘Stick’ and TVA agent Mobius in the MCU show ‘Loki.’ His upcoming projects include ‘Focker In-Law,’ the fourth movie in the ‘Fockers’ comedy film franchise; Jeremy Garelick’s comedy drama ‘Rolling Loud,’ and Scott Waugh’s action thriller ‘Runner,’ co-starring Alan Ritchson.
Penélope Cruz was last seen as Laura Ferrari, the estranged wife of Enzo Ferrari, in the biographical drama ‘Ferrari.’ We will next see her in Olivia Wilde’s comedy movie ‘The Invite,’ co-starring Wilde, Edward Norton, and Seth Rogen, and ‘The Bride!,’ a horror romance based on Mary Shelly’s novel ‘Frankestein,’ featuring Christian Bale as Frankenstein’s Monster and Jessie Buckley as the Monster’s “Bride,” as well as Jake Gyllenhaal and Annette Bening. Cruz’s other upcoming projects are Marc Webb’s thriller ‘Day Drinker’ and Florian Zeller’s thriller ‘Bunker.’
Jude Law’s recent roles include Jake Friedkin in ‘Black Rabbit,’ Vladimir Putin in ‘The Wizard of the Kremlin,’ and Jod Na Nawood in the Disney+ show ‘Skeleton Crew.’ His upcoming venture is the Apple TV+ show ‘Wild Things,’ a biographical drama series based on the lives of entertainers Siegfried & Roy, with Law as Siegfried Fischbacher and Andrew Garfield as Roy Horn.
Kieran Culkin’s last role was in Jesse Eisenberg’s comedy drama ‘A Real Pain,’ where he played Benji, the cousin of Eisenberg’s David. Culkin won an Oscar and a BAFTA, among other awards, as Best Supporting Actor for the part. The movie came out in 2024, and since then, he has lent his voice to various animated shows, including ‘The Second Best Hospital in the Galaxy,’ ‘Solar Opposites,’ and ‘Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.’ He will play Caesar Flickerman in ‘The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping,’ which will be released this year.
Finally, we have Emma Mackey, who starred in James L. Brooks’s political comedy ‘Ella McCay,’ which came out in December 2025. Before that, we saw her in the horror movie ‘Alpha,’ Rebecca Lenkiewicz’s ‘Hot Milk,’ and Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie.’ Upcoming movies we will see her in include J.J. Abrams’s fantasy ‘The Great Beyond,’ Quentin Dupieux’s comedy drama ‘Full Phil,’ co-starring Woody Harrelson and Kristen Stewart, and Greta Gerwig’s ‘Narnia,’ where Mackey will play the White Witch.
