The Von Erich family, consisting of six brothers, is regarded as revolutionary and legendary in the world of professional wrestling. However, their legend came with the price of the tragic deaths of five of them, with Kevin Von Erich being the only surviving brother in the family. Throughout it all, his wife, Pam Adkisson, played an important role by providing him with the love and support he needed. The episode titled ‘The Real Iron Claw’ of Investigation Discovery’s ‘Hollywood Demons’ delves deep into the ups and downs faced by the wrestling dynasty. Featuring in the documentary, Pam talks about the tragedies and successes of the Von Erich family from her experience and perspective.
Pam Adkisson Held Her Family Together Through Her Unwavering Support During Tough Times
Born in the early 1960s, Pamela J. May was supposedly raised in a loving and supportive household in Texas. When she was in the eighth grade, she first crossed paths with Kevin Adkisson. Both were students at Lake Dallas High School in Corinth, Texas, where their romance was the talk of the campus. While Kevin graduated in 1975, she passed out in 1979. A year later, the high school couple tied the knot in front of their loved ones, starting out a brand new chapter in their lives. After the union, while Kevin focused on his professional wrestling career, Pam, now Pamela May Adkisson, took care of the family.

In the following years, the family went through several losses and personal tragedies in the form of the untimely deaths of Kevin’s brothers, David in 1984, Mike in 1987, Chris in 1991, and Kerry in 1993. Throughout it all, Pam supported and provided the stability that her family required. In between these tragedies, Pam and Kevin had welcomed four children — two daughters named Kristen and Jill, and two sons named Ross and Marshall. In 1995, Kevin officially retired from professional wrestling and focused on Pam and raising their children. Another loss struck the family when the former wrestler’s father, Fritz Von Erich, passed away due to cancer.
In order to start afresh, the Adkisson family reportedly moved from Shady Shores, Texas, to the island of Kauai in Hawaii in January 2007. Pam and Kevin built a house in the shadow of Mount Namahana and embraced all the challenges that came with living on the island. They also invested in a seven-acre plot, where they grew guavas, papaya, star fruit, and coconuts. Staying close to nature, Pam and Kevin were also able to raise goats, ducks, and chickens, and play in the jungle with their children. In 2009, she became proud of her connection with the Von Erich family when her husband and his late brothers and father were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. By 2013, their sons, Ross and Marshall, had chosen to walk in their father’s footsteps and become professional wrestlers too.
Pam’s Life Revolves Around Her Husband, Children, and Grandchildren Today

Ever since the Adkisson family relocated to the Hawaiian island of Kauai, they have managed to maintain a private life, away from the limelight. Over the years, Pam and Kevin have also become doting grandparents to 11 bundles of joy welcomed by their children. From what we can tell, after embracing the Hawaiian lifestyle for several years, the family has seemingly made a return to their homeland, as in May 2023, Kevin and his two sons bought a ranch near San Antonio, Texas. Described as the sweetest girl he has ever known, Kevin and their children celebrated her birthday in November 2024, calling her “the queen of the castle.”
