Perla Figuereo was first introduced to the audience in season 2 of Netflix’s ‘Squid Game: The Challenge.’ She proved from the outset that she wasn’t just any participant but a strategic player who carefully planned every move. What made her journey more interesting was that she entered the competition alongside her brother. Throughout the show, Perla demonstrated her observant nature and analyzed who posed the most prominent threat. She noticed every smart move and alliance, and used that insight to push herself forward in the game. Yet beyond her calm exterior was someone who felt the emotional weight of the challenges. Perla Figuereo has always showcased her talent, drive, and creativity beyond the screen. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Rhetoric, Film, and Screen Studies, as well as Theater, in May 2021 at Bates College, which reflects her deep love for storytelling and performance. However, her professional journey started earlier in September 2013, when she stepped into the role of a Credit Research Intern at JPMorgan Chase & Co. It was an experience that built her discipline and attention to detail, qualities that would later shine through every phase of her career. Over the years, Perla held several positions, including Student Body Co-president, Audience Development Associate, and Festival Director, among others, before taking on the role of Office Production Assistant at Fabletics in August 2021.
Perla worked at Fabletics until March 2023, contributing to various studio and on-location shoots. One month later, she began showcasing her flair for fashion and visual expression as a freelance Fashion Model under Minelli Management. At the organization, she represented brands through commercials, fashion campaigns, and UGC projects until August 2024. While working there, Perla also became a Social Media Manager at Galore Media Inc. in November 2023, a role she continues to hold to this day. Simultaneously, she signed with Storm Model Management as a Fashion Model in June 2024. She quickly earned recognition for her versatility and appeared in several editorials, commercials, and on the runway. Perla has collaborated with renowned brands such as Rare Beauty, Yitty, Shielded Beauty, Fabletics, and several others.
Perla’s work reflects her artistry and has helped her amass over 10.7K followers on Instagram. Additionally, the contestant reached a significant milestone in October 2024 when she was named Face of the Week by the Face Card Service. By January 2025, Perla was interviewed by Tiffany Foxx, during which the player spoke about her experiences with dating and what goes through her mind when she stands before the camera during a photoshoot. In September, Perla and her brother, Jeffrey, were invited by Rare Beauty to celebrate the Latine Heritage Month. They opened up about how their shared love for storytelling and capturing vulnerable moments allows them to express who they truly are. Perla’s journey to becoming a model is a true testament to her evolution and self-discovery.

By July 2023, Perla found herself mesmerized by the raw beauty of Mexico. In March 2024, she jetted off to the coasts of Costa Rica, where she enjoyed its lush rainforests and vibrant culture. Most recently, in July 2025, she journeyed to her home country, the Dominican Republic, where she spent her time by the beach and savored every moment spent with her family. Perla’s friends are also a significant source of joy in her life. She frequently explores new restaurants with them and even travels to different locations. Moreover, Perla takes great pride in her Latin heritage, wholeheartedly celebrating it through her work style and voice.
