Prime Video’s Killing It to be Shot in Atlanta

Prime Video’s upcoming film ‘Killing It’ is slated to be filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. The horror comedy revolves around four friends who try to redeem their reputations by going to the SpelHouse homecoming. However, their journey turns into chaos as a zombie apocalypse begins to terrorize the country and the four have to fight for their survival.

It is not yet confirmed when the shoot will commence. However, the same is expected to start after the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike concludes. Atlanta, where the production is scheduled to take place, is becoming an increasingly popular filming spot due to its well-established infrastructure, low production costs, and tax incentives by the Georgia state government. The city has earlier hosted the shoot of several films and shows such as ‘The Walking Dead,’ ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,’ ‘The Vampire Diaries,’ ‘The Haunting of Hill House,’ and ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’

The zombie film is helmed by Bridget Stokes based on a script penned by Robin Thede. The two earlier worked together on HBO’s sketch comedy series ‘A Black Lady Sketch Show,’ for which Stokes won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series. She is also known for helming the films ‘Herman & Shelly,’ and ‘Boy Genius.’ Thede is a five-time Emmy Award nominee known for her writing work for the television shows ‘The Rundown with Robin Thede,’ ‘The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore,’ ‘The Queen Latifah Show,’ and ‘Real Husbands of Hollywood.’ She also appears in several films and shows as an actress, including ‘The Drop,’ ‘Bad Hair,’ ‘A Haunted House,’ ‘Second Generation Wayans,’ and ‘Clunkers.’

‘Killing It’ stars Tika Sumpter and Jessica Williams in undisclosed roles. Sumpter is recognized for her performances as Yvonne Fair in ‘Get on Up,’ Michelle Robinson in ‘Southside with You,’ and Cassey McNamara in ‘The Nomads.’ Her television credits include the shows ‘Run the World,’ ‘The Haves and the Have Nots,’ and ‘One Life to Live.’

On the other hand, Williams is renowned for her portrayal of Lally Hicks in the ‘Fantastic Beasts’ film series. Her acting credits also include the movies ‘Booksmart,’ ‘The Incredible Jessica James,’ and ‘People Places Things’ and the TV shows ‘Love Life,’ ‘Shrinking,’ and ‘Just for Kicks.’ The film is produced by For Better or Words, Jax Media, and Amazon Studios. The producers include Thede from For Better or Words, and John Hodges, Brooke Posch, and Tony Hernandez from Jax Media.
