Renee Spivey: What Happened to Renard Spivey’s Twin Sister?

In July 2019, Patricia Spivey was shot to death in her own home. Her husband, Renard Spivey, claimed that the two had gotten into an argument and that Patricia had allegedly shot him. He further claimed that she was shot by accident during the struggle that allegedly ensued when he attempted to take the gun from her hand. In CBS’ ‘48 Hours: Deputy Spivey on Trial,’ it is Renard’s twin sister, Renee Spivey, who spoke about the case and attested to his character. She stood by her brother throughout the years he awaited trial, which ultimately ended with him being found not guilty.

Renee Spivey Heard About Her Brother’s Arrest From a Relative

Renee Spivey grew up in a healthy and happy home in Texas. From childhood, the most important person in her life was her twin brother, Renard Spivey, and the two shared an especially close bond. They knew each other inside and out, and over the years, made a conscious effort to maintain that closeness despite the demands of adult life. On July 28, 2019, Renee said she received a call from a relative informing her that Renard had been arrested after his wife, Patricia Spivey, was shot inside their home. Renee recalled that not even for a moment did she believe that her brother had intentionally been responsible for Patricia’s death.

Renee attested to her brother’s character and maintained that he had deeply loved his wife. In her view, there was no way that he would have intentionally harmed Patricia. After his arrest, Renard was ultimately released on bond and placed under house arrest while awaiting trial. The case did not go to trial until 2023, and during those intervening years, Renee’s support remained a source of strength for him. She consistently stood by her brother’s side, believing in his innocence and waiting for a decision that had the potential to change both of their lives forever.

Renee Spivey Had Empathy For Her Sister-in-law As Well

When Renard Spivey’s trial began in November 2023, Renee Spivey-Frazier was present in court to support her brother. After hearing the not guilty verdict, she said that she had sympathy for Patricia and her family as well and recognized the tragedy of the situation. At the same time, she expressed concern for Renard, stating that she did not know how he was going to cope with everything that had happened and that his life had been permanently changed by the case. Renee’s comments reflected the support she had shown throughout the legal proceedings. She has largely stayed out of the public eye and maintains a low profile, but she has consistently spoken in favor of her brother and continues to appear to be one of his strongest supporters and biggest champions.
