Renée Zellweger’s upcoming flight schedule includes trips to the United Kingdom and Montreal, Canada. This is because the filming of her next feature, a psychological thriller titled ‘Phantom Son,’ will be filmed in those two places starting this March. David Yates will direct, based on a story by Ian Scott McCullough. Spike Fearn is also cast.

The story follows Ronnie (Fearn), a young runaway struggling to survive on the streets, who is taken in by Audrey (Zellweger), a lonely woman whose own son was kidnapped twenty years prior. As Audrey becomes convinced that Ronnie actually is her long-lost son, a twisted game of cat and mouse develops, blurring the line between deception and delusion.
Academy Award-winning actress Renée Zellweger recently starred as Camila White in Season 5 of Hulu’s ‘Only Murders in the Building.’ She also reprised the beloved character Bridget Jones in ‘Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy,’ the fourth movie in the ‘Bridget Jones’ franchise. While her fans know her as Bridget Jones, Dorothy Boyd from ‘Jerry Maguire,’ Betty Sizemore from ‘Nurse Betty,’ and Roxie Hart from ‘Chicago,’ her more dramatic performances include singer/actress Judy Garland in ‘Judy,’ Deborah Hall in ‘Same Kind of Different as Me,’ and Tessa in ‘Here and Now.’
Spike Fearn rose to fame with his performance as Louis Green, one of the protagonists in the ITVX teen drama series ‘Tell Me Everything.’ Movies he has featured in include ‘Sweetheart,’ ‘Aftersun,’ Matt Reeves’s ‘The Batman,’ ‘Alien: Romulus,’ ‘Back to Black,’ and ‘Ella McCay.’ Next in line for the talented young man is Alicia MacDonald’s rom-com ‘Finding Emily,’ Frankie Shaw’s ‘4 Kids Walk Into a Bank,’ a comedy mystery starring Liam Neeson and Teresa Palmer, and Alice Birch’s drama ‘Sweetsick,’ starring Cate Blanchett.
David Yates is the director of the three ‘Fantastic Beasts’ movies as well as the two parts of ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,’ ‘Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,’ and ‘Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.’ His non-Harry Potter directorials include ‘The Legend of Tarzan,’ co-starring Alexander Skarsgård and Margot Robbie, and ‘Pain Hustlers,’ featuring Emily Blunt and Chris Evans.
The UK served as the production base for movies like ‘Crime 101,’ ‘Bugonia,’ ‘Wake Up Dead Man,’ and ‘Black Bag.’ Some thriller films shot in Montreal are ‘The Voyeurs,’ ‘In Cold Light,’ ‘To Catch a Killer,’ and ‘Red Rooms.’
