Richard Fuhrman: What Happened to the Alleged Hitman?

When Dino Guglielmelli approached Rick Fuhrman about arranging the killing of his then-wife, Monica Olsen, he did not anticipate how events would unfold. Rick stated that he initially delayed Dino’s requests, but when it became clear the situation was escalating, he informed the police. The alleged hitman faced no charges, as his cooperation aided the investigation and eventual arrest of Dino, who was seeking to have his wife killed amid divorce proceedings. In CBS’ ‘48 Hours: The Millionaire, The Model & The Hitman,’ Rick recounted how the situation developed and what he claimed to have heard during his interactions with Dino.

Richard Fuhrman Alleged He Faced a Lot of Pressure to Carry Out a Murder

Richard “Rick” Fuhrman first met Dino Guglielmelli in 2011 through business. Rick, who had previously served in the military, assisted Dino in supplying vitamins and health supplements to military contacts, which established their professional relationship. Initially, they were business acquaintances, but the two began spending more time together, and Dino reportedly started sharing details about his personal life. According to Rick, he confided that his marriage to Monica Olsen was falling apart. According to Rick, Dino told him that Monica was a poor mother and often intoxicated. Monica vehemently denied the claims, which were never corroborated. By late 2011, Dino had filed for divorce, and Rick said that Dino became increasingly “consumed” with the idea of losing half his assets and paying alimony.

According to Rick, Dino remained dissatisfied with the settlement, even after it was reduced to $25,000. Rick alleged that Dino then began pressuring him to arrange Monica’s death. When Rick questioned how the children would manage without their mother, he claimed Dino responded that they would be better off without her. Rick admitted he deliberately fabricated a story, falsely telling Dino that Monica had HIV in an effort to calm him down.

After the domestic violence incident in which Monica obtained a restraining order, Dino allegedly began applying heavy pressure on Rick. Rick claimed he received multiple calls from Dino, who allegedly insisted that Monica be killed overseas in a violent manner. Overwhelmed and unsure of how to proceed, Rick reached out to Monica’s divorce attorney, who then took him to the District Attorney’s office. Authorities sought evidence, and on October 1, 2013, Rick wore a hidden wire. The recorded conversation captured Dino offering $80,000 for Monica’s murder and instructing Rick that the killing needed to be carried out.

Richard Fuhrman Has Spoken About Fearing for His Safety

In June 2014, Dino Guglielmelli pleaded guilty to the charge of attempted second-degree murder. He was sentenced to prison but was later released on parole in 2019. Following his release, Rick Fuhrman publicly expressed that he feared for his life, and he said Dino might still harbor resentment over his cooperation with authorities. Dino, on the other hand, has consistently alleged that Rick was a conman who manipulated him, set him up, and deliberately orchestrated his arrest. Rick has strongly denied these claims and maintains that his only motivation was to avoid being forced into a murder plot and that his actions ultimately saved Monica Olsen’s life. Since then, Rick has kept a very low profile. He has always been a secretive man, and he understandably continues to live privately.
