Roen Horn AKA Will Green: Where is the Bush Boy of Vernon Now?

Paramount+’s ‘Wild Boys: Strangers in Town’ delves deep into the strange journey of two brothers, Kyle and Roen Horn, who relocated to the wilderness of Vernon, British Columbia, in 2003, without informing their parents. When they were spotted by a local resident, they weaved a fabricated story about their origins and family background, which captivated the town, but was later revealed to be untrue. The documentary features exclusive, insightful interviews with the Horn family, including Roen Horn, who opened up about his struggles during childhood.

Roen Horn, AKA Will Green, Ran Away to British Columbia With His Brother

Born to Diana and Rodger Horn, Roen Horn grew up alongside his older brother, Kyle Horn, in Roseville, California. While their father worked as a claims adjuster, their mother was employed at a local movie theater. According to the documentary, Roen’s parents were reportedly advised to consider admitting him to a treatment facility owing to concerns about his declining health. The show suggests that in June 2003, he ran away from home to avoid being enrolled in a treatment center.

About a month later, Kyle told his parents that he was moving to Canada. In reality, he and Roen moved to Canada together, while their parents continued to look for him. They hitchhiked and hiked their way across the border and lived in the wilderness of Vernon, British Columbia. When a local woman named Tami Ryder discovered them and helped the two brothers, they told her that they were Tom and Will Green and had been raised in the Canadian wilderness. Ultimately, Tami found the truth and reunited them with their parents. Not only that, but Roen was also taken care of at a hospital, where he gained weight.
