In Netflix’s ‘Love Con Revenge,’ the romance fraud victim of the Tinder Swindler, Cecilie Fjellhøy, and private investigator Brianne Joseph team up to investigate several perpetrators of romance fraud by talking to their respective victims. As the two gather enough evidence against the fraudsters, they let the law enforcement take care of the rest. Sabrina Taylor, referred to as the Geek Girl scammer in the show, is one of the scammers that the duo looks into after the insistence from her ex-boyfriend, Aaron Ward.
Sabrina Taylor Lied About Her Health, Education, and Employment to Defraud Multiple Individuals
In 2013, Sabrina Taylor began her fraudulent schemes, which involved her lying about the diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, her college tuition for the University of Washington, and her brother’s imprisonment. By using these excuses, she managed to convince many of her acquaintances to loan her large sums of money. Meanwhile, the truth of the matter was that she was not diagnosed with MS, did not attend college, and her brother was not behind bars. In fact, she reportedly spent the money on her luxurious trips to Japan and Korea, shopping from online stores, and purchasing thousands of dollars’ worth of makeup and clothing. Sabrina met most of her victims online by connecting with them through her interests in anime, video games, and comic books.

As per the show, after forming a deep bond with them, Sabrina asked for the money and claimed that she would repay every single penny after she received payment from a litigation settlement from a local bank. She met Aaron Ward after he responded to an online personal advertisement. Owing to their shared interests in anime and comic books, the two started dating. Aaron alleged in the show that she claimed that she was finishing her double Bachelor’s at the University of Washington and had an internship with the Gates Foundation. Aaron further claimed that she told him about her fake MS diagnosis as well, following which Aaron allegedly paid her thousands of dollars for medication and hospital bills out of his own pocket.
Their relationship lasted for a couple of years, during which, Aaron alleged, Sabrina drained him of a lot of money. A few of her friends grew suspicious of her claims and investigated her alleged money problem. They learned that she was not attending the University of Washington, and instead, she had attended Seattle Central College. The group of friends then called an FBI hotline, which led to an investigation into Sabrina’s life. It turned out that she had also reportedly falsely accused one of her former partners of domestic assault and taken more than $100,000 from him. She was eventually arrested and charged with wire fraud.

In the summer of 2022, 40-year-old Sabrina Taylor pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud in connection with her fraudulent scheme that she used to receive thousands of dollars from her friends and acquaintances. In the courtroom, she admitted that she lied about her education, MS diagnosis, and employment status in order to defraud multiple people of over $600,000. During the hearing, multiple victims took the stand and gave victim impact statements.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor also submitted a sentencing memo, which read, “Taylor carried out an extensive fraud scheme using deceit and deception that preyed upon humankind’s better angels. Equally as important, Taylor exploited and betrayed the trust of each of her victims, and many of Taylor’s victims will continue to pay an emotional toll for many years to come.” Ultimately, Sabrina was sentenced to 27 months in prison for her crimes. In addition, she was also ordered to pay $608,975 in restitution to her victims. As of today, it seems that the 44-year-old woman has been released from prison, but her whereabouts are not of public knowledge.
