Netflix’s ‘Owning Manhattan’ became a hit in large part because of its engaging cast and the tensions that played out among them. In season 1, Savannah Gowarty emerged as a prominent figure, especially due to her ongoing conflict with fellow agents Jonathan Nørmølle and Jessica Markowski, a storyline that became one of the season’s defining elements. She did appear again in season 2, though only briefly, during a social event where Jess offered her an apology and attempted to clear the air. The show also revealed that Savannah had since moved on and was now working for a different organization outside the firm.
Savannah Gowarty Didn’t Enjoy the Filming Process As Much
Savannah Gowarty explained that she had only recently moved to New York and was just starting her real estate career when Ryan Serhant, the well-known real estate mogul, sent her a message on Instagram. He asked if she wanted to join the first season of the show and invited her to meet with the producers. She said she had always admired Ryan and his work, so the offer felt surreal, and she immediately accepted. Savannah admitted that the process of filming and getting camera-ready was far more difficult than she expected, especially because the biggest challenge for her was the constant preparation, like doing her hair, makeup, and looking presentable on camera, something she wasn’t used to at all.
Savannah said that she genuinely enjoyed the time she spent with the group, especially because of everything she was able to learn from Ryan. She frequently spoke with him about her career goals, and as someone new to the industry, she was excited to have the chance to work so closely with him. However, reflecting on her experience, she mentioned that during her time there, she began receiving calls from various real estate agents, including one particularly lucrative offer. She informed Ryan about it and asked whether he could match the opportunity, explaining that it could be an important step for her. In the end, she chose to accept the other offer and ultimately left the SERHANT team.
