Shawn Licari Was Not Living With Kendra Licari When Charges Were Filed Against Her
Shawn Licari believed he had a stable and content life. His wife, Kendra Licari, seemed to be a devoted partner and mother who was always attentive to their daughter, Lauryn Licari. They lived in Beal City, Michigan, a small town that suited them despite occasional financial struggles, which Shawn accepted as part of life. He claimed that Kendra largely managed their finances, and he trusted her with it. However, the latter alleged that both of them handled the finances of the house and knew about all of it. However, Shawn said that when he discovered unpaid bills for their storage units and realized that his belongings and memorabilia were at risk of being seized, he was deeply disappointed. Initially, he thought it might have been a simple oversight.
Since October 2020, when Lauryn began receiving threatening and demanding text messages from an unknown number, Shawn grew increasingly concerned. Still, he believed Kendra was being proactive and handling the situation. During this time, the family was also struggling with financial issues, which eventually forced them to move homes. The strain led to Shawn and Kendra’s separation, and they began living in different houses while sharing custody of their daughter. In December 2022, Shawn was caught off guard when Lauryn called him to come to Kendra’s home.
Shawn was met by police officers in the backyard, where he was informed that Kendra had confessed to sending the threatening and harassing messages to Lauryn and Owen McKenney over the months. He was stunned by the revelation and broke down in disbelief. Immediately, he confronted Kendra, demanding an explanation, and told her that she needed to leave for her family home and refrain from having any contact with their daughter. Shawn felt deeply betrayed. The situation grew worse when he learned that Kendra had also lied about her employment history. For years, she had claimed to be working various jobs, but investigators revealed that she had not been employed as she had led him to believe. This discovery compounded Shawn’s devastation, as it meant that much of what he thought he knew about his wife and their life together was untrue.
Shawn Licari is Focusing on Life With His Daughter Today
Shawn Licari continues to live in Michigan, and he has full custody of his daughter, Lauryn. While the latter still maintains communication with her mother, Shawn has reportedly cut all ties with his former wife. Though the details of their divorce remain private, it seems like they are no longer married. The father-daughter have grown very close since the incident. She graduated from high school in May 2025, and Shawn is enthusiastically supporting her future plans. He has never faced charges in connection with Kendra’s actions, and while some parents involved in the case alleged he may have known more than he admitted, no evidence has supported these claims. Today, Shawn focuses on being a devoted father and spending quality time with Lauryn. They bond through activities like playing ball together, and Shawn makes sure that he is present for her in every way possible.
