Jack the Dog Meets His End During the First Attack on Michael and Jessie
Michael spends his time in peace with the emotional support provided to him by his pet dog, Jack, who is a curious animal. Jack listens to the conversations between Michael and Jessie. At the start of the narrative, the dog doesn’t have a name, but Jessie names him Jack after building a bond with him. Jack lives happily, always moving around the house and keeping Jessie and Michael company. The situation changes when MI6 learns about Michael’s whereabouts. Roberta Frost takes over as interim head of MI6 after the current head named Manafort, resigns and takes up a more discreet task under the command of PM Fordham. Michael is mistaken for a terrorist named Timur Tchermoev, and Roberta orders an assault team to eliminate him.

Jessie and Michael have a warm conversation during dinner, and the latter hears a boat. He asks Jessie to hide in the bathroom when he sees that an assault team is headed their way. Unbeknownst to the assassins, he has set up traps. Michael starts killing the assassins one by one. He takes them all out and saves Jessie in the process. During this chain of events, Jack acts bravely and also helps Jessie by attacking one of the assassins who enters the house first. But the assassin gains the upper hand and shoots two bullets, killing Jack instantly.
When Michael goes back to the house to check on Jack, he sees that his beloved four-legged friend has died. Though Michael is a man of few words and is known for his emotional restraint, he apologizes to Jack for his cruel fate. With no time left to mourn this loss, Michael gently caresses Jack and expresses deep sadness before leaving the house. Thus, Jack lives and dies as a loyal friend who stood up for the people he loved when it mattered most.
