Shoresy Season 6 Plot and Cast Theories

‘Shoresy’ season 5 charts a unique and unexpected path for the titular character and his band of hardened hockey players. After years on the ice, Shoresy has finally accepted that the next chapter of his life lies behind the boards as the coach. Yet, instead of coaching a Triple-A team in the now-defunct NOSHO league, the former hockey player finds himself taking on a whole new challenge: defending the North American claim to brutish hockey fame.

The season concludes with Shoresy and his team facing off against an EU All-Stars team, and even though they lose, they go down in history with guts and glory. Yet, the conclusive and feel-good ending of the storyline still leaves open plenty of possibilities for Shoresy and the Bulldogs’ future in the game. Fans will be happy to hear that the series has already been renewed for season 6, with the continuation expected to begin production in Sudbury, Ontario, in the fall of this year. Consequently, if development follows old trends, season 6 of the show might begin airing as early as 2027.

Season 6 Will Take a Deeper Dive Into Shoresy’s Career as a Hockey Coach

At the beginning of the show, Shoresy was the center player for the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs. However, as the narrative progressed, he slowly but surely settled into the role of a future coach for his team. By the end of season 4, he embraces his fate and takes the daunting job. Nonetheless, the dissolution of the NOSHO league at the beginning of season 5 ends up robbing him of the chance to coach the Bulldogs. Fortunately, new opportunities arise, and Shoresy gets to take his earliest foray into coaching for a commendable cause, expressing his love and adoration for even the dirtiest parts of the game. Furthermore, we also get glimpses of him one-on-one mentoring a college student, Jack, during his games.

Therefore, now that Shoresy has proven himself as a credible coach, the new season can take bolder steps into his future career. At the time of writing, there is a notable lack of plot details being made available to the public. Even so, one can hazard a few guesses about where a future in coaching might lead the beloved, badmouthed protagonist. Whether the show chooses to reinstate the NOSHO league or push a collegiate team into the narrative’s center, there are plenty of opportunities for Shoresy to put his years of experience to good use. Alternatively, although risky, there’s also always a possibility that the show might take the character out of Sudbury to pursue other opportunities elsewhere.

Shoresy Season 6 Might Hold Onto Much of the Original Cast

Over the course of five seasons, and counting, ‘Shoresy’ has gone through a number of changes, even in its cast. Many of the prominent characters, like Sanguinet, Fish, and JJ Frankie JJ, have left the series for one reason or another. Additionally, a few new and old faces unexpectedly become recurring characters in season 5. Therefore, it remains uncertain what the series might have in store for the future. Still, it will be fair to assume many of the core members of the cast that inform the foundational identity of the title will return in the future season. This obviously includes Jared Keeso, the creator who also plays the titular character, Shoresy.

Additionally, other characters closely tied to Shoresy’s career can also be expected to reprise their roles. These include the sports manager, Nat (Tasya Teles), and her assistants Ziigwan (Blair Lamora) and Miigwan (Keilani Elizabeth Rose). Longtime Bulldogs players like Michaels (Ryan McDonell), the trio of Jims (Jon Mirasty, Brandon Nolan, and Jordan Nolan), Goody (Andrew Antsanen), Hitch (Terry Ryan), and Dolo (Jonathan-Ismaël Diaby) are also expected to return. Additionally, non-hockey characters like journalists Laura (Camille Sullivan, Anik (Kim Cloutier), and Jory Jordan (Maclean Fish) also have a high chance ot remaining in the show’s orbit. Other than that, some of the newer additions to Shoresy’s roster, like Delaney (Frederick Roy), Gord Gallant (Nick Laporte), Schnurr (Neil Clark), and other members of the North Stars, might also make a comeback.

Shoresy Season 6 Might Address the Future of the Bulldogs

The Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs are one of the most prominent narrative elements in ‘Shoresy.’ While the NOSHO North Stars herald in a new era for the titular character, cementing his place as a coach, they aren’t exactly a legitimate team built for a league. Therefore, the Bulldogs’ restoration might be an interesting narrative thread for Shoresy’s storyline to pick up. Yet, even if the team ultimately remains defunct, a proper send-off for it would be appreciated by the fans who have formed emotional ties to the Bulldogs.

As such, it would make sense for the future season 6 to provide a conclusive answer for the future of the Bulldogs. One potential avenue that the story can take is to capitalize on Shoresy’s competition with the EU All-stars to restore the NOSHO Tripe-A league to its former debatable glory. On the other hand, the same inciting motivation can be used to allow the Bulldogs to join some other hockey league, providing them with new competition and heightened stakes. Either way, there’s a lot that the show can still do with the Sudbury-based hockey team to keep it at the center of the storyline.
