And Just Like That’ revives the ‘Sex and the City’ franchise, originally created by Darren Star, and premieres on HBO Max with three of the four original friends, Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis). Kim Cattrall refused to reprise the role of Samantha Jones for the show, and her absence is explained by noting that she moved to London after falling out with Carrie. The show picks up over a decade after the events of the 2010 film Sex and the City 2, with the women facing new complications in life as they step into their fifties. A celebration of friendship, love, and rediscovering life, the romantic comedy drama manages to balance nostalgia with fresh ideas perfectly.
