Created by Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton, Prime Video’s ‘Neagley’ is an action crime series based on Lee Child’s character, and a spin-off of ‘Reacher.’ Frances Neagley (Maria Sten), a former member of the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit, now works as a private investigator in Chicago. Her life takes a dangerous turn when she learns that her close friend Tommy has been found dead on train tracks. Neagley refuses to believe that his death was a drug-related suicide and begins looking into the events leading up to it. Working alongside local authorities, she tries to uncover what Tommy was involved in during his final days.
The investigation soon points toward a powerful cult run by a charismatic man who appears to have secrets of his own. Neagley risks her own life as she delves deeper into the case and fights her way out of tight spots along with unlikely allies by her side. However, she is challenged by unexpected forces and realizes that Tommy’s death may be connected to something much larger. Alex Parrish (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) sees her life collapse when she becomes the prime suspect in a terrorist attack in ‘Quantico,’ from the creative mind of Joshua Safran. As the two timelines gradually intersect, Alex’s relationships with her fellow recruits become increasingly complicated, making it difficult to know whom to trust. The thriller drama series focuses mainly on one woman’s journey in a world of deception and unexpected threats, similar to ‘Neagley.’ Both Alex and Neagley hunt for the truth against all odds, even as the stakes get deadlier.
11. Echo 3 (2022-2023)
‘Echo 3’ revolves around Amber Chesborough (Jessica Ann Collins), who disappears into the hands of militants while working as a scientist in Colombia, turning her research trip into a high-stakes rescue mission. Her husband, Eric Haas, AKA Prince (Michiel Huisman), and her brother, Alex Chesborough, AKA Bambi (Luke Evans), are both high-level US operatives who refuse to leave her behind. Their search takes them deep into an unpredictable region shaped by guerrilla conflict, where finding Amber becomes only part of the challenge.
The mission also forces the brothers-in-law to confront a strained relationship and the painful history of a previous operation that ended badly. When they move further into dangerous territory, Prince and Bambi risk everything to bring Amber home alive. With Mark Boal providing the creative vision, the action thriller series is based on the Israeli series ‘When Heroes Fly.’ Amber’s kidnapping sets the events of ‘Echo 3’ in motion, while Tommy’s death prompts Neagley to start investigating in ‘Neagley’. In both cases, one disturbing event becomes the gateway to a much larger and more dangerous situation.

In ‘Nikita,’ the titular character (Maggie Q) comes back with one specific goal in ‘Nikita,’ to destroy it. Once a teenager facing death row, she is given a second chance by the secret agency, which turns her into a highly trained assassin. But when Division kills her fiancé, Nikita sees the organization for what it is and escapes. Now she uses everything she learned inside Division against the people who trained her, determined to expose the agency and bring it down.
Her campaign puts her against increasingly dangerous threats, forcing Nikita to make tough choices that may redefine her life and future. The Craig Silverstein creation is an action-thriller drama series that focuses on a woman whose dangerous mission is tied to personal relationships, making the mission more complicated, similar to what the titular character in ‘Neagley’ experiences.
5. The Night Agent (2023-)
Based on Matthew Quirk’s eponymous novel, ‘The Night Agent’ follows Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso), an FBI agent who spends his nights monitoring an emergency phone in the White House. He assumes that his job is just a demotion from field missions and is not important enough to matter. That changes when the line finally rings, pulling Peter into a dangerous investigation involving a traitor within the government. His search for answers leads him to Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan), a former tech CEO and computer expert who becomes his partner in unraveling the threat.
Peter and Rose piece together the connections behind the conspiracy, while the danger surrounding them continues to grow. With Shawn Ryan serving as creator, the action thriller series is essentially one character’s arduous journey through combat and deception, much like ‘Neagley.’ Peter and Neagley are both forced into increasingly dangerous situations, turning their search for answers chaotic.
4. Lioness (2023-)
‘Lioness’ is the tale of Joe McNamara (Zoe Saldaña), who leads a CIA program that uses female operatives to infiltrate terrorist organizations. Joe is responsible for training, managing, and leading operatives called Lionesses while trying to keep her demanding career from overwhelming her personal life. Among her recruits is Cruz (Laysla De Oliveira), a skilled but inexperienced Marine Raider chosen to operate undercover alongside Joe as they target a terrorist organization from within. The program is overseen by Kaitlyn Meade (Nicole Kidman) and Donald Westfield (Michael Kelly), who direct its larger mission.
While Cruz moves deeper into the operation and Joe manages the risks surrounding her team, the mission places their lives in increasingly dangerous territory. Created by Taylor Sheridan, the spy thriller series is inspired by a real US military program. Joe’s leadership stems from her position within the CIA, while Neagley’s background in the Army in ‘Neagley’ shapes how she approaches danger and takes the lead. Both characters rely heavily on professional experience under heavy duress.
3. Shooter (2016-2018)
Bob Lee Swagger (Ryan Phillippe) has left his military career behind and settled into a quiet life, but an old connection pulls him back into danger in ‘Shooter’.
