With Netflix’s ‘Building the Band’ revolving around a group of independent artists as they form their own band and then compete for a shot at $500,000, we get a competition unlike any other. That’s because at the core of it is not a label, a management, or any other third party dictating the terms, but the members themselves figuring out their chemistry, compatibility, and connection. Amongst those to do so were Autumn Bryant Stallia, Erica Padilla, Jenna Dave, and Noriella Gjileli, who successfully went on to form one of the three powerful girl groups of this debut season, Siren Society.
Siren Society Was Formed After the Members Connected on an Emotional Level
From the moment 23-year-old Australian Erica Padilla came across our screens, it was evident that while she is a bubbly and positive young woman, she has faced her fair share of tribulations. Unfortunately, when she tried to share the details of the same with Alison Ogden in the hopes of bonding with her and then forming a girl group based on authenticity, it simply didn’t pan out. Instead of finding comfort, empathy, or support, she was essentially told to look forward rather than behind, hurting her further. Little did she know her subsequent conversations would change everything for the better.
Erica honestly found exactly what she was looking for in 19-year-old Nevada resident Jenna Dave, 20-year-old Maryland native Autumn Bryant, and 25-year-old New Yorker Noriella Gjileli. It turns out they all desired the same thing too — they didn’t want to just be a part of a girl band, they wanted to belong to a sisterhood that would stand the test of time and emotional rollercoasters. Therefore, they locked in, following which they came together to perform for the very first time without any practice, only to light the stage on fire with their rendition of “Want to Want Me” by Jason Derulo.
Autumn, Erica, Jenna, and Noriella’s subsequent performance in front of the mentors was also rather incredible, with them doing “Love Yourself” by Justin Bieber, as their chemistry shone. After this, they settled on the name Siren Society for their group since their vision revolved around wanting to be vocally alluring like sirens while also providing a safe space for fellow girls. But alas, before they could really make a lasting impact, they were eliminated based on audience votes as well as judges’ deliberations, who candidly admitted they simply weren’t as strong as the remaining bands.
Members of Siren Society Always Aspired to Join the Entertainment Industry
Since Autumn’s parents met in a gospel choir as singers with interests in various genres, she grew up surrounded by different kinds of music at every step of the way. This influenced her to possibly explore the same, just for it to turn out she had an incredible voice and artistic instincts, driving her to make a 5-song EP while she was still in high school. Her sophomore EP ‘Wondergirl’ came out in 2023, which she has since followed with a single titled “Final Destination” in 2024 and another EP ‘On the Run’ in early 2025. As if that’s not enough, she has a dance/musical theatre background, so she did all this while also attending the University of Southern California as a film major – she graduated Magna cum laude in May 2025.
Like Autumn, Erica Padilla was also just a young girl growing up in Melbourne, Australia, when she developed such a passion for music that she knew she had to pursue it as a career. Unfortunately, although she relocated to the US not long after graduating high school, she faced several setbacks, which wavered her confidence. Still, she kept pushing on thanks to the support of her loved ones. It thus comes as no surprise that since 2020, she has released seven singles and an entire EP – her most recent single was titled “Sorry to my Friends” (2025) while her EP ‘Somehwere Near the End’ came out on April 10, 2025.
While their experiences have been different, both Jenna and Noriella also became ambitious about being artists early on in their lives, driving them to embrace every possible opportunity. For the former, this included auditioning for ‘The Voice’ season 24 and then doing the same for ‘Building the Band.’ She didn’t know that through these, she would meet two of her childhood idols, Niall Horan and Liam Payne. As for Noriella, this meant embracing all her hobbies, including theater, acting, and modeling, to garner further exposure, which has enabled her to release two singles and an EP titled ‘Everything but the Ending’ in 2025.
Siren Society Members are Together and Working on New Original Music
Although Siren Society was the first of all 6 bands to be eliminated from the aforementioned show, they had no doubt in their mind that they wouldn’t split up because they had found something special. It has been a hard road for them, considering some of them are still based in different parts of the country, but they do often travel to Los Angeles to meet and maintain their connection by staying in touch through FaceTime. “We’re so committed to this (band) and to each other,” they recently told Tudum in an exclusive interview. “Our bond goes beyond music, and it’s something really special.”
As for what’s in the cards for them next, Siren Society is currently working on their own original music. It’s a slow process since they are still finding their sound and gradually growing through the process, but they are excited to continue being a band for the foreseeable future. In fact, they are already thinking of tours and performances too, telling Tudum, “We want our shows to feel like a celebration of self-expression, sisterhood, and love. Siren Society is just that, a society. A community where everyone belongs and can be the most authentic versions of themselves.” They don’t really have an album or an EP yet, but they are planning to release their debut single soon.
