Sophie Segreti: Where is Survivor 49 Contestant Now?

Being stranded on a remote island in Fiji and competing in grueling challenges and eliminations is no easy task, but it’s a badge of honor for contestants on CBS’ ‘Survivor.’ In season 49, Sophie Segreti of the Hina tribe relied heavily on her natural instincts and thinking to progress in the game. Her journey was fueled by years of fandom and passion for the show. She had been watching it since middle school and even carried the tradition into college, where she would watch with friends and bond over the strategies and outcomes. The series became more than just entertainment, and it was a touchstone that shaped her perspective.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Sophie decided to take a leap and start auditioning. She was selected as an alternate for season 48, which, though disappointing, motivated her to double down on her preparation. She focused on physical training to be game-ready but also began working on her mental strength. Before joining season 49, she worked closely with her therapist and learned to regulate her emotions, practiced meditation, and committed to staying present. Thus, backed by a strong and supportive group, she was able to navigate the complexities of alliances and maintain her footing even when the pressure was at its peak. During Tribal Councils, she leaned on her connections and used her social game and ability to read the room as leverage to stay ahead.
