In Netflix’s ‘His & Hers,’ the secrets of a small town come to the surface after a woman is murdered in the woods. The story follows Detective Jack Harper’s investigation, while his estranged wife, Anna, tries to dig up the truth on her own. She works at the WSK news channel, where she has to work her way up to get back the status she lost after her year-long sabbatical. As the details about the victim come to light, it turns out that the answer lies so far in the past that the school she studied at, St. Hilary’s, becomes an important piece of the puzzle. The Fictional School and News Channel Are Important Plot Points in Anna’s Arc
St. Hilary’s Girls School and the WSK news channel in ‘His & Hers’ are fictional creations used to propel the drama of the story. For St. Hilary’s, the show’s creators most likely used a mix of real and set locations. The story is set in Dahlonega, Georgia, and to keep the setting as authentic as possible, the production set camp in the city. Several locations throughout the town and Lumpkin County were used to depict Anna and John’s hometown. It is likely that the show’s creators ended up finding a private property that lends its facade to the exterior scenes featuring St. Hilary’s.
As for the interior scenes, the production team most likely used custom sets. A lot of important scenes take place inside the school, including a murder that turns the investigation into a whole new direction. These scenes were likely filmed at Eagle Rock Studios, located at 6269 Best Friend Road, Norcross, Georgia. The school doesn’t just become a crime scene, but it also turns out to be the inception point of the drama whose effects echo into the present day, leading to the murders. This is where the connection between Anna and Rachel comes to light, and we get to see who they truly were. While St. Hilary’s represents Anna’s past, WSK represents her future.
The fictional news channel is the catalyst that brings Anna back to the hometown she despises. The murders lure her back, or so she says in the beginning, and getting to the bottom of the truth leads to the unraveling of many secrets. Before things went terribly wrong in her life, she was the main news anchor at the channel. However, a tragedy led her to disappear for one year, and now, someone else has her job. So, with her return to Dahlonega and confronting her past at St. Hilary’s, she is trying to wade through the murky waters that will eventually lead her back to being the star of WSK. By the end, it becomes clear that she is ready to do whatever it takes.
